Dumb question time.

How does this lower pivot come out. Takes an 8mm but just doesn't feel right after half a turn trying to undo it. Do I just need to man up and undo or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks. Just didn't feel like it wanted to come out with the 8mm. I'll have a can of man up and apply some force ?

Are you sure that you are turning it in the correct direction?

I bent an 8mm Allen key trying to remove the crank on my YT Capra because I was turning it the wrong way.

I think its awnly the yon side crank thats reverse thread on bikes and probably in most of our lives ....

Yes, it starts to come out a mm and then feels like it's stopping. Man up time.

Noooooo!! Dont force it, thats your ride telling you that it doesnt feel right.

Its best to slacken all the bolt nuts off before you start pulling bolts out - this helps to keep it all in-line and helps the nuts come off straight - if I were you I would put all the bolts back in ( no nuts) and see if it comes out easier.
