I really love that paint job, I wonder if they could do a simpler version as a limited edition?

Met him last week in the Surrey Hills, he's the nicest guy ever! Super funny as well :)

Thats great to hear. I met Steve Peat once when he was doing a promotion in our shop back when he rode for GT and was just starting to win. They say never meet your hero's but he was a ace guy super super friendly. He's so tall, shaking his hand its like holding a bunch of Bananas! He took us out for drinks after the shop closed smashing evening so cool to hang out with I was a massive Peaty fan at the time (I had posters of him on my wall clipped from MBR and I even had GT Lobo I'd ride around swinley ?).

Only other person I have seen who rides with mode controller on the right like me, though I have got rid of display too - the way they have moved display to other side of bars would bug the hell out of me!

Run mine on the right as well, it's also a left hand shifter fitted upside down, fits with the other controls better. So down button goes up an assist level, haven't bothered to reprogram it as I like to think of it as a sequential gearbox. Also pisses my mates off when they ride my bike, double win!

Repsol colors! That's a quality build. My only minor nitpick = tech handling the brake pads with those greasy gloves, but I'm kinda psycho about keeping pads and rotors oil free.

Spotted new FC-M8150 XT cranks going on. Found them on the Shimano website, available in 160mm, want some of those! Not in stock anywhere that I can see yet though

Few cheaper options as well

Take it back, Alltricks have them listed but 160 and 165 not in stock. Bit spendy at 120 Euro as well

Also have the FC-EM900 at 130E and the non-hollowtech FC-EM600 cheap enough for 43E. Thought the XTs were top of the E-bike pile, would have guessed that the 900s are a bit heavier?

Actually just saw the Santa Cruz Bullit specs, seems the 900s are top of the heap. Wonder if they are like Saint spec or something?

I f*****g love Rob Warner. Never met the man but I did years of paragliding, windsurfing & one or two other dodgy, niche sports that led me to any number of Rob Warners in various iffy spots around the world & I know a man who doesn't give a f**k when I see one & in my experience, they're invariably the best people. Just don't ever lend them money.

He's even funnier and louder in real life. Young lad we were with wanted a photo but felt too embarrassed to ask. I insisted he ask and Rob couldn't have been nicer. He's just super happy and nice to everyone, he really doesn't give a f*ck!!

Have you lent money to someone like that? :)

Once or twice. The thing being I recognise the type, a free spirit living in the moment & usually only in the moment. The kind of guy who'll take you on the f***est uppest adventures in which you'll have the time of your life & be lucky to avoid jail/death/STD's. After all, you only live life once, so why live it with boring people?

Yeah. Mode controller on the right still makes some sense though. Especially if you're used to riding motorcycles. But why has the mechanic placed the controller inboard of the brake lever clamp? ie. miles out of reach when you're actually riding. Rather than between the lock-on collar and the brake lever clamp?
Well strange placing the display on back to front on the wrong side of the stem all squint AF. WTFs that all about? ?
if you clamp the band more than 10-15mm out from the stem it sits squint, even more so if clamped where the bar bends or tapers.
I know this from trying moving mine around on my first Eeb to fit a light bracket next to the stem and anywhere other than butted up to the stem and the display would be on the piss. Got rid of my display ages ago too.

My KTM 350 display tells me only two things. How fast I’m going and when my tank is low. I don’t even need the speed. Same on an eMTB. Let me see how my battery is getting on. Anything else is just bling. I can get into any boost mode in at most three clicks with 100% certainty. Easier than finding third on the dirt bike, that’s for f*cking sure.

If bike makers want to innovate with electronics, gimme a sound system that pumps bass through the frame and a suspension self tuning setup and/or a suspension “map switch” that let’s me switch F&R between presets.

hoping that the manufacturers figure out some more creative ways to use that big ass battery.

It looks like the mechanic or someone else had another go at it between Gee Milners vid and the official photos - the display has move sides.
