California folks! How are you managing to ride with this heat wave?

Bought a 2021 Levo, and have only been able to get out twice with this 100 (F)+ weather ???

Rode Sunday. Smoke is the issue. As long as the index is below 200 and driven only by PM2.5/PM10, I'm OK.

I ride everyday, Im in LA North Valley. I leave my place 7am and ride for about 2 hours. Not hot until my last mile.
I do spend time in some canyons, and the air is typically clean and cold.

where do you ride? I am in Burbank ??

I ride everyday to here in SoCal. Just leave no later than 8am and you’ll be fine. My rides typically start between 6 -7am and the heat is a no issue.

Unfortunately, I had an early appointment this morning, so getting ready right now to go for a quick ride 100 degrees out, so just cruising.

In Norcal and like the rest of us...the smoke is the only thing keeping us off the trails. Night rides are the norm here when it is hot....Outbound Lighting Downhill Package....

I sympathise with all our Californian sisters & brothers,. If it was up to me, I'd be assembling a large volunteer fire fighting contingent to cross the Pacific to assist. I hope that happens quickly.

For me during our last summer of horror, it was the smoke that prevented me from riding. I used a Respro Ultralight mask which helped but nothing replaces clean, particulate free air.

You need to come to Humboldt County up north, on the coast. Never too hot and we have somehow avoided the smoke.
My daughter went to Humboldt University. Every time I picked her up or dropped her off, I made sure to bring my bike! Amazing trail system there! All the times I went, it was never above 75degrees.

Im in Porter Ranch so I'm 1 mile from the trails. There's 100's of trail, I can ride dirt all the way to rocky peak. If you've ever up here hit me up!

Dude I am in Burbank! What trails do you go to in Porter Ranch? When do you usually ride? Might take you up on it!

i usually ride right out of my house at 7am. Aliso Cyn, Mission Peak, East Cyn, Devil's Cyn, Rocky Peak, Johnsons, Mormon Cyn, landslides.....you name it I ride it if it's within riding distance from me.

I take the bike on the car probably once a month to other places.

Hottest day of the year here in Vancouver this summer was 37 (98 for you guys) and that was too hot for me even in the mountains/trees. Hottest I've ridden this year was 33 (91) so respect to you California guys. You have it much better in the winter :)

I'd probably stay inside with AC July and August if I lived in the warmer parts of California. I was in LA in Feb (just before COVID) and the temps were nice then! Perfect mountain bike weather for a morning ride, and warm enough for a trip to the beach in the afternoon.

Over 60 days 100+ this summer here in Palm Springs, CA. I drive to Big Bear or Idyllwild. cooler and some great trails. E-Bikes are also now allowed at Snow Summit bike park, so more and more access is now open to ride. no issues with smoke.

Been riding Pacifica for the last 3 weeks.

I am originally from the Santa Monica area but haven't been back in many years and I was wondering if anyone could provide information on what trails you ride on that have decent vertical. Also are all of these trails allowing E-bikes? I would love to venture down there this late fall and winter and do some riding.
Thank you in advance for any information.
