Hi,

I need to replace my NX Eagle cassette and freehub on my powerplay 9.7. I have 2000 miles on it.

I’m planning to switch from an 11-50 NX 1230 cassette to a 10-50 GX 1275. I will also replace the freehub to an XD type. The current freehub does not look very good and generate strange noises.

Do you see any problem moving to 1275 cassette?

Thanks,

As long as you swap the freehub to XD as you said, no issues!

Why do you think so?
If Shimano steel hub is much stronger than aluminum. XD the way the driver anchors the cassette is a little more secure. Either option would be my choice. On my Shimano wheels I'm using a stainless steel her body never a problem...

My i9 wheels on the XD cassette never any issues either. The stock wheels that came with the bike with the aluminum Shimano hub started creaking etc.

Use a suntour cassette. Less individual cogs. Less hub scarring Just file down those ridges

Which XD driver do we use to swap freehubs on stock Rail 5 Wheels? There are a few on Trek site and i cant figure out which one i need so that i can upgrade my cassette along with a bunch of other bits.

Does anyone know the cost of a new microspline freehub? I'm into doing similar on my 9.7, can't be dealing with a six grand bike having NX ??‍♂️
