Electrical burning type smell

Hi all just taken delivery of my new moustache Samedi with performance CX. Went for a test ride and can smell a slight bit of electrical burning wafting up - is this normal for a new motor? Apologies for any ignorance in advance - first time in the e saddle.

I don't know for sure, but you are correct to be suspicious. I would report this asap to whoever you bought it from, just in case it gets a lot worse and you have to throw water on it!!

We've had two new bikes with the Gen 4 motors in the past two months. No burning smell from either of them. I agree with @steve_sordy , at the very least report it in case it becomes a problem.

Bosch's helpline respond very quickly to questions.

Will do, took it out for another short run tonight and couldn't smell anything this time...My wife found me particularly weird when she saw me on all fours sniffing the underside of my bike as soon as I got back...
