ok so i found today that after cleanign my bike, the battery had some drips of water on it due to the very poor design and fit of the battery cover. My question is, how resilient are the batteries usually (bosch power tube)? Have they been designed to take some water contact? Also are they designed in a way at all which would prevent a short?

I have a Bosch powertube system. Wash the bike with the battery out is what the manufacturers suggest. You can hose the bike down just don’t direct jets if water at anything much the same as you’d avoid bearings etc.

My bike gets a good hose (not jet wash), scrub with mucoff and rinse every other week. Bounce it a few times to remove excess water. Lube the chain, silicone spray the moving bits and leave it alone.

No issues.

Problem (mainly) solved...marigold stuffed over the electrics.

The charging port on the frame on the other hand is a whole other can of worms.
