E 8010/E 6000 battery compatibility?

Is the E 6000 downtube battery compatible with the E 8010? I would like a spare battery but don't want to spend the money on a direct replacement, around £550. I realise the E 6000 has less reserves and doesn't weigh any less but it would save me at least £ 200 for what would be essentially an emergency spare.

One more that wants to know if BT-E6010 STEPS Battery is compatible with e8000 series.

I have always thought that it wasn't? I would send an email to Shimano technical help, as aside from whether it will fit in the mount/battery dimensions, there may be some software compatibility.
