EMTB Forums verdict

The E-Lyte 150 is Whyte's lightweight trail/enduro eMTB, pairing a uni-directional carbon frame with the Bosch Performance Line SX motor at 55Nm and 600W peak. With 150mm front and 142mm rear of custom-tuned travel on 29in wheels at both ends, it sits in the mid-torque SL class at a claimed 18.9kg for the RSX and 19.2kg for the Works, and it took MBUK's SL E-Bike of the Year award. A free Bosch software update from October 2025 lifts assistance to 400% and torque to 60Nm.

Both trims share the same carbon frame, Whyte TeXtreme carbon Trail rims with CushCore in the rear, the same Maxxis Minion DHF/Dissector tyre pairing and the drop.it II Adjust dropper. The £9,999 Works adds Fox Factory suspension (36 Grip2 and Float X), SRAM XO T-Type AXS, Hope Tech 4 V4 brakes, Hope cranks and Pro 5 hubs, plus a 250Wh PowerMore range extender in the box for 650Wh combined. The £7,999 RSX runs RockShox Lyrik Select+ and Deluxe Select+, SRAM GX T-Type AXS and Code Bronze Stealth brakes on the 400Wh internal battery alone, which makes it the stronger value pick if you do not need the extender included.

Geometry is modern without being extreme: a 64.6 degree head angle (64 in the low Shape.it Link V2 setting), 456mm reach on a Medium rising in neat 25mm steps to 506mm on XL, a 77.5 to 76.9 degree seat angle and a consistent 450.4mm rear centre across sizes. Two bottle positions, a Fidlock mount and UK-proofing details like the sealed seat-clamp gaiter and low-mounted charge port round out a frame designed for year-round riding.
