Scott's TQ-powered, sub-18kg carbon trail bike built on the Genius platform

The Scott Voltage eRIDE 2026 is Scott's SL all-mountain/enduro carbon eMTB and sister model to the lighter-travel Lumen. Per published press specs, the Voltage eRIDE is built around the TQ HPR50 motor (50Nm, 300W peak, 1.85kg) with a 360Wh internal battery and a 160Wh external range extender included as standard on 2026 models, taking the total system to 520Wh effective. Headline numbers: 160mm fork, 155mm rear, 63.9 degree head angle and reach 437 to 513mm across S, M, L and XL. The lightest spec (900 SL) lands at approximately 17.9kg. The Voltage eRIDE sits between the trail-leaning Lumen and the full-power Patron in Scott's lineup, occupying the enduro-SL bracket.
Drive system and range. The TQ HPR50 is the lightest credible SL motor on the market: 50Nm of torque, 300W peak and a 1.85kg motor mass. It rewards higher cadence and gives a very natural, subtle power delivery: press testing on the 900 Tuned describes the motor as "extremely natural" with "no surprises or jerky jarrings", though even the most powerful mode does not give the cartoonish climb-anything character of a full-power motor. The 360Wh internal battery plus the included 160Wh external range extender gives 520Wh effective for 2026: a meaningful upgrade over the 2024-2025 spec. Charging is on-bike for the internal battery; the extender is removable.
Geometry and handling. 63.9 degrees up front is properly slack for an SL bike: genuine enduro-grade geometry rather than softened trail. Reach steps cleanly: 437 (S), 457 (M), 485 (L), 513 (XL). Chainstays are a uniform 455mm and wheelbase tops out at 1317mm on XL. The 160/155mm travel envelope pairs with a hidden shock layout and concealed cable routing: Scott's signature clean aesthetic. The package is biased toward fast steep descending while keeping pedalling efficient for big-day epics.
Build and value. Trim ladder is not in the gold spec record but Scott historically offers the Voltage eRIDE in three to four trims from the entry 910 through to the 900 Tuned and 900 SL flagship. Press-tested 900 Tuned and 900 SL builds run Fox 36 Factory suspension, Shimano XT four-piston brakes and SRAM Eagle Transmission. Standout: SL system weight (17.9kg on the SL trim) with proper 160/155mm enduro-grade travel is rare. Questionable: the 360Wh battery is integrated and small; the included extender is essential for big-day rides.
Caveats and known gripes.
- 50Nm is light for the travel envelope. 160/155mm travel demands big climbs on the way to big descents; 50Nm of TQ feels modest versus 85Nm Shimano EP801 or 120Nm Bosch CX Gen 5 rivals on the same travel.
- 360Wh integrated battery. Even with the included 160Wh extender (520Wh effective), this is meaningfully smaller than 600Wh-plus SL rivals like the Specialized Levo SL Gen 2 or Levo SL 4.
- Hidden shock servicing. The Voltage's signature hidden shock layout means routine shock service requires partial frame disassembly compared with conventional under-top-tube layouts.
- TQ ecosystem. Display, app and motor service network is less mature than Bosch's Flow/Kiox ecosystem; expect a longer learning curve for first-time TQ owners.
- No curated community signal yet. The 2026 Voltage eRIDE has limited owner reporting on the eMTB Forums community at the point of writing; long-term motor and frame reliability data is yet to mature.
- Crank options. TQ-compatible crank choices remain limited, mainly to Race Face: a constraint for owners chasing specific crank lengths.
Verdict. The 2026 Voltage eRIDE is one of the most credible enduro-SL platforms on sale, with proper 160/155mm travel, modern 63.9 degree geometry, the quietest TQ HPR50 motor, and the included 160Wh extender making 520Wh effective range realistic. It suits riders who want a sub-18kg long-travel SL bike for technical mixed-terrain riding and who can live with the TQ ecosystem. Buyers chasing full-power torque, easier shock servicing or a more mature aftermarket ecosystem should look at the Specialized Levo SL Gen 2/4 or full-power Bosch SX rivals from Mondraker and Whyte. Production status: current.
Frame
Built around an HMF carbon main frame with Scott's Integrated Suspension Technology, the Voltage eRIDE hides a trunnion-mount rear shock inside the seat tube to deliver 155mm of linkage-driven rear travel, paired with a 160mm fork on 29in wheels. It uses the TQ HPR50 mid-motor (50Nm, 300W peak) with a 360Wh internal battery, and every 2026 build ships with the 160Wh range extender for 520Wh total. Geometry runs a 63.9 degree head angle and 77.1 degree effective seat angle across four sizes (S-XL), with 455mm chainstays and an angle-adjustable headset.
