A solid all-round descender (65.5° head angle, 130mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.
Lumen 2023
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The Scott Lumen eRIDE arrived in mid-2022 as a model-year 2023 bike and was Scott's first lightweight trail eMTB. The HMX carbon frame hides a TQ HPR50 motor (50 Nm) and a 360Wh internal battery, with a 160Wh range extender as an option, and runs 130mm of travel front and rear on 29in wheels. The rear shock is buried inside the frame and driven by a flex-stay link, controlled by Scott's TwinLoc remote for on-the-fly lockout. A 65.5-degree head angle (plus or minus 0.6 degrees via the adjustable headset) and 450mm chainstays across all sizes give it a stable trail rather than racy XC stance.
The range ran from the flagship 900 SL (FOX Factory 34, SRAM XX1 AXS, Syncros Silverton carbon wheels, Shimano XTR brakes, around 15.5kg) down through the SRAM GX AXS-equipped 900, the Shimano-built 910 (FOX 34 Rhythm, Deore brakes with an XT rear mech, Syncros X-30SE wheels) and the women's Contessa 900, which shared the 910's Deore/XT build with a women's saddle and S to L sizing. UK pricing spanned roughly £6,499 for the 910 and Contessa to £13,699 for the 900 SL.
For its era it was one of the lightest and most discreet assisted trail bikes on the market, leaning on a near-silent TQ drive and a genuine analogue feel rather than outright power. It has since been discontinued and replaced by a later-generation Lumen, so any examples now are end-of-line or used stock.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
Short 450mm rear and a lighter build — easy to pop, manual and throw around.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.76) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Climbs well — a 77.2° seat keeps the front planted. 300W of peak power and 50Nm of torque.
Easy to throw around; happiest when you're active on the bike.
The numbers are well balanced for its category.
