Carbon Shimano EP8 light eMTB, 360Wh battery, 150/140mm travel

The Rotwild R.X375 2024 is a German hand-built carbon lightweight eMTB built around the Fazua Ride 60 motor and a 430 Wh removable battery. Headline numbers: 150 mm of fork travel, 140 mm at the rear, 60 Nm of torque, a 19.5 kg claimed weight, a 66.5 degree head angle and reach progression from 430 mm on S to 500 mm on XL across four sizes. Rotwild positions the R.X375 firmly in the proper lightweight eMTB category, sitting on the Fazua side of the lightweight motor split alongside Mondraker, Lapierre and Wilier. The community framing is mixed: @Zimmerframe highlights the brand's premium-priced positioning, noting earlier R.X375 Ultra variants commanded €11500 for the 18.2 kg lightweight build.
Drive system and range. The Fazua Ride 60 delivers 60 Nm of torque, 250 W nominal and a manufacturer-claimed 450 W peak from a remarkably light 1.98 kg motor. Fazua's character is famously smooth and natural-feeling, with strong overrun and one of the quietest mid-drives in the eMTB market. The Fazua Energy 430 Wh battery is removable, which is unusual at this weight bracket: most lightweight rivals integrate their batteries to save weight, but Rotwild has gone the other way for serviceability. Real-world range on a 60 Nm Fazua system at 430 Wh in trail use typically lands 40 to 65 km depending on assist, vert and rider weight. The Fazua optional 210 Wh range extender lifts total capacity to ~640 Wh for big days.
Geometry and handling. A 66.5 degree head angle is steep by modern trail standards (most rivals are 65 to 66 degrees) and signals that the R.X375 prioritises agility and climbing over descent composure. Reach steps clean 430 mm on S, 450 mm on M, 475 mm on L and 500 mm on XL with the wheelbase climbing 1184 mm to 1266 mm. The 450 mm chainstay is held constant across all four sizes, which on the largest XL frame is on the shorter side. This is a fast-handling lightweight trail bike with an emphasis on flow, jumps and active singletrack rather than steep, technical mountain descents.
Build and value. Rotwild publishes a single base trim at €9490, 19.5 kg, for the spec we have on file. At this price you get the Fazua Ride 60 drive unit, a 430 Wh removable battery, the carbon VLK (Virtual 4 Link Kinematic) chassis and Rotwild's signature hand-finished frame quality. €9490 puts the R.X375 at the premium end of the lightweight eMTB market: a Specialized Levo SL Pro is roughly comparable, an Orbea Rise M-Team sits below at £6500, and a Trek Fuel EXe 9.7 sits below this price point. The premium reflects Rotwild's small-scale German manufacture and frame quality, with the trade-off of a niche brand with limited dealer footprint outside German-speaking Europe.
Verdict. The Rotwild R.X375 2024 is a niche, premium German lightweight eMTB. Strengths are real. 19.5 kg with a 430 Wh removable battery and a 60 Nm Fazua motor is one of the best weight-to-spec ratios in the lightweight category. The carbon VLK chassis is hand-finished to Rotwild's traditionally high standard, with full carbon linkages and shock yoke. The Fazua Ride 60 is one of the quietest, most natural-feeling lightweight motors and has a clean OTA update path. The trail-leaning 66.5 degree head angle suits riders looking for agility over enduro composure. The honest caveats are equally clear. The price is high: €9490 for a 150/140 mm chassis puts the R.X375 in the same bracket as some full-power 800 Wh carbon eMTBs, and most rivals at similar weights offer a similar feature set for €6500 to €8000. Dealer footprint outside Germany, Austria and Switzerland is thin, with most international buyers shipping in for service. The 66.5 degree head angle is steeper than mainstream lightweight rivals and may feel less composed on steep terrain. The constant 450 mm chainstay across all sizes is a missed-trick for taller riders. And no curated forum quotes or owner reports are on file: long-term reliability data for this specific 2024 build is limited. The R.X375 suits the rider who wants a premium hand-finished German lightweight chassis, the smooth Fazua Ride 60 motor and a removable battery, and is happy with cottage-brand pricing and a thin dealer network. Riders prioritising value, broad dealer support or sub-65 degree head angles should look at an Orbea Rise, Specialized Levo SL or Trek Fuel EXe. Production status is current.
