enduro

The Rotwild R.EXC 2026 is a German hand-built carbon e-enduro with mid-high pivot kinematics, 45-step modular geometry adjustment and the DJI Avinox M2S motor. Headline numbers: 150 Nm of torque, 1,500 W manufacturer-claimed peak, 820 Wh removable Rotwild IPU820 battery, 180 mm front / 170 mm rear travel, a 63.6 degree head angle, 23.5 kg claimed and €10,990 base. There are no curated community quotes on file yet, so this verdict draws on the gold spec sheet.
Drive system and range. The DJI Avinox M2S delivers 150 Nm of torque and a 1,500 W manufacturer-claimed peak at 2.63 kg — currently among the highest-output mainstream eMTB motors. The 820 Wh Rotwild IPU820 battery is removable and one of the largest packs on a full-power enduro in 2026, supporting four-and-a-half to five-and-a-half hours of hard riding on the 23.5 kg chassis. The DJI Avinox M2S is now used across 60-plus brands as of April 2026, so service network is broadening rapidly outside of Rotwild's own dealer footprint.
Geometry and handling. Rotwild offers three sizes (M, L, XL) with reach progressing from 460 mm (M) through 485 mm (L) to 510 mm (XL). The headline geometry feature is the modular 45-step adjustment system: an Acros RW EXC modular headset allowing +/-0.5 degree HA and +/-5 mm reach adjustment, plus a three-stage rocker link offering 160, 155 or 145 mm rear travel. The mid-high pivot kinematics with vertical shock layout sit at the heart of the chassis, with modular dropouts for 29-inch or mullet wheel configuration. The 63.6 degree head angle at base setting is properly slack, and the 436 to 460 mm chainstay range gives genuine geometry flexibility per size.
Build and value. Two trims are on file: the Pro (base €10,990) and Ultra. The Polydynamic carbon frame is handcrafted from high-modulus carbon fibres — pricing reflects the boutique German build provenance. At €10,990 base the R.EXC is competing with Specialized Levo Gen 4, Pivot Shuttle AMP'd and Mondraker Crafty XR at the upper end of the segment, but bringing the unique 45-step modular geometry as the differentiator.
Verdict. The Rotwild R.EXC 2026 suits buyers who want a German hand-built carbon enduro with the DJI Avinox M2S motor, an industry-leading 820 Wh removable battery, and the 45-step modular geometry programme that lets you fine-tune the bike from playful 145 mm trail to gravity-focused 160 mm enduro. Less suitable for buyers seeking the largest UK dealer network, value-led pricing, or a simpler one-spec geometry bike. Production status: current. Without community feedback on file, demo and direct dealer engagement essential to evaluate the modular geometry programme before ordering.
