R.EXC 2025

The Rotwild R.EXC is the German brand's purpose-built E-Enduro racer, developed alongside World Cup pros and ridden by the Rotwild Schwalbe Gravity Team. The handmade high-modulus carbon frame uses Rotwild's Mid-High Pivot "Elevated Box Design" rear end, paired with a Shimano EP801 motor (85 Nm, up to 600 W) and an in-house IPU820 carbon battery holding 820 Wh on Gen2 21700 cells. A quick-release mechanism lets you swap the pack in seconds, which matters on stages where a fresh battery between runs is the difference.

It runs a mullet setup with 170 mm up front via a Fox 38 and rear travel that adjusts across 160, 150 and 145 mm through the shock mount; dropping travel adds shock progression, steepens the head angle and raises the bottom bracket for flatter power stages. A flip chip alters chainstay length by 5 mm (436 to 441 mm) for a balance of agility versus stability. Geometry is consistently aggressive across the four sizes, with a 63.3 degree head angle, 78 degree seat angle and reach from 430 mm (S) to 505 mm (XL).

Two builds are offered. The PRO at EUR 9,990 pairs Fox Performance and Performance Elite suspension with mechanical Shimano XT 8100 12-speed shifting, alloy Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels and an alloy e*thirteen cockpit, claiming 22.8 kg. The ULTRA at EUR 11,990 steps up to Fox Factory Kashima suspension, electronic XT Di2 8150 shifting, carbon Synthesis wheels and a full e*thirteen Race Carbon bar and crank, shaving the claimed weight to 22.2 kg. Both share the same frame, motor, battery, Shimano XT four-piston brakes on 203 mm rotors and 8Pins integrated dropper, so the upgrade buys lighter wheels, electronic shifting and the higher-end damping rather than a different bike.
