The Rotwild R.E850 is the German brand's full-power mullet enduro, built around a high-modulus carbon frame with carbon linkage. The numbers are firmly enduro: 170 mm up front, 148 mm out back, a 64.5 degree head angle and a 29in front wheel paired with a more playful 27.5in rear. Short 440 mm chainstays are held constant across all four sizes, which should keep the bike lively to manoeuvre even on the longer XL.
Power comes from a Shimano EP801 motor rated at 85 Nm and a sizeable 820 Wh IPU820 carbon battery with a quick-release Push+ system, so range should not be the limiting factor on big days. Geometry stays consistent across the range, with reach growing sensibly from 420 mm on the S to 490 mm on the XL and the seat angle held at a usefully steep 74 degrees throughout.
Two builds are offered. The CORE pairs a Fox 36 Performance fork and Float X Performance shock with a Shimano XT mechanical drivetrain, Magura MT5 brakes and alloy Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels. The ULTRA steps up to Fox Factory Kashima suspension, Shimano XT Di2 electronic shifting, XT brakes and carbon Crankbrothers I9 wheels, with a claimed 22.1 kg weight. The CORE looks the value pick of the two for riders who do not need wireless shifting or carbon hoops.
