EMTB Forums verdict

The Raymon Tarok 2026 is the German brand's full-carbon all-mountain eMTB and Raymon's first bike built around DJI's flagship Avinox M2S motor. It runs 160 mm of fork travel and 150 mm rear on a 4-bar HSC carbon mainframe with aluminium swingarm, in mullet configuration (29 front, 27.5 rear). Headline numbers: 150 Nm peak torque, 1500 W peak power from the Avinox M2S, an integrated 800 Wh FP800 battery and a claimed 20.4 kg system weight. A 64 degree head angle and reach growing from 435 to 505 mm across five sizes give the Tarok a properly modern trail geometry stance. £5,999 for the base trim with FOX 38 Factory, FOX Float X Factory, SRAM Maven Silver brakes and SRAM XO Eagle AXS T-Type. Production status: upcoming. Community verdict: a properly competitive carbon Avinox M2S all-mountain platform at one of the sharpest entry prices in the segment.

Drive system and range. The DJI Avinox M2S launched April 2026 with flat-wire windings for higher slot fill, delivering 130 Nm continuous and 150 Nm peak torque, 1300 W continuous and 1500 W peak power, at a 2.63 kg unit weight. The motor uses helical gears, sealed bearings (41 per cent drag reduction vs M1), under 45 dBA noise and Avinox's 5-mode interface (Eco, Trail, Auto, Turbo, Boost). The 800 Wh FP800 battery is integrated and non-removable, supporting 4 A standard charging. Real-world all-mountain use on 800 Wh should reach 60 to 90 km depending on assist mode and rider weight. DJI Mimo app firmware pushes refinements directly to the bike.

Geometry and handling. A 64 degree head angle is bang on the modern all-mountain norm, matching the Cannondale Moterra Neo and Norco Sight VLT. Reach grows from 435 mm in S to 505 mm in XL, with the lineup including two M size options (455 and 456 mm reach) for finer fit choice. The 445 mm chainstay is identical across all sizes, on the playful side of the all-mountain market, which favours direction-change feel for shorter riders but means XL riders won't get a proportionally stretched rear centre. Wheelbases run 1223 to 1302 mm. The mullet wheel setup keeps the bike agile and is increasingly standard on this travel class.

Build and value. One base trim, £5,999. Build includes FOX 38 Factory fork with GRIP X2 damper, FOX Float X Factory rear shock, SRAM Maven Silver four-piston brakes and SRAM XO Eagle AXS T-Type Transmission. This is a properly serious component package for £5,999, with FOX Factory suspension and XO AXS Transmission delivering flagship-grade kit on what is essentially an entry-trim DJI Avinox M2S build. The standout strength is the price-to-spec ratio: directly compare against the Mondraker Zendit RR S at £9,499 or the Pivot Shuttle AMP'd Pro X0 at £11,999 for the equivalent motor. The questionable note is Raymon's UK dealer reach (see caveats).

Caveats and known gripes. Raymon is part of the Pierer Mobility Group (same stable as Husqvarna and GasGas), but UK dealer reach is essentially zero with Pierer's recent financial restructuring affecting the wider brand portfolio. UK buyers will need to confirm warranty support arrangements before committing. The integrated FP800 battery is non-removable, which is the most consistent compromise of DJI Avinox-powered chassis: owners who tour, share chargers or charge in flats need to plan around it. As an 'upcoming' 2026 platform, long-term reliability data on the chassis is not yet available from the community. The 64 degree head angle, while modern, is steeper than the genuinely slack 63 to 63.5 degree gravity-focused rivals like the Mondraker Zendit or Whyte Karve EVO.

Verdict. The Tarok 2026 suits the value-led all-mountain buyer who wants DJI Avinox M2S power and a flagship FOX Factory plus SRAM XO AXS build at a sharply-priced entry point, and who is comfortable with Raymon's challenging UK dealer situation. Riders chasing wider UK dealer reach, removable batteries or more aggressive enduro geometry should look at the Whyte Karve EVO, the Pivot Shuttle AMP'd or the Amflow PR Carbon Pro. Production status: upcoming.
