EMTB Forums verdict

The Orbea Keram MTB was the Spanish brand's entry-level hardtail e-bike, sitting well below the trail-focused Wild and Rise platforms. It is built around a hydroformed 6061 aluminium frame with Orbea's Hide-out internal battery, an SR Suntour X1 100mm coil fork, fast-rolling Kenda K1153 cross-country tyres and a conservative geometry (67 to 68 degree head angle, 73 degree seat angle, 475mm chainstays). The S size rolls on 27.5in wheels while M, L and XL move to 29in.

Two trims were offered. The Keram 10 (£2,999) ran a full-power 85Nm Bosch Performance Line CX motor with a 500Wh battery in the UK, a Shimano Deore 10-speed drivetrain and Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes. The cheaper Keram 30 (£2,399) shared the same chassis and finishing kit but dropped to the low-torque 40Nm Bosch Active motor and a 400Wh pack, making it the gentler, more leisure-minded option.

Orbea pitched the Keram as easy and confidence-inspiring for riders of any experience level rather than as an aggressive off-roader, and the modest fork, narrow 740mm bar and basic two-piston brakes reflect that brief. It comes with no rack, mudguards, lights or kickstand as standard, so it is a genuine if entry-level cross-country hardtail eMTB, best suited to fire roads and light singletrack.

The Keram MTB is discontinued and the model name is no longer current, so stock is limited to remaining dealer inventory.

What the numbers mean on the trail

Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.

Size
Descending
49

A solid all-round descender (68° head angle, 100mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.

Playfulness
60

A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.

Size balance
30

Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.47) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.

Technical climbing
72

Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 and a steep 73° seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 600W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.

Best suited toAll-round trail riding across mixed terrain.

No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.

Watch out forNo major red flags in the L geometry.

The numbers are well balanced for its category.
