EMTB Forums verdict

The Nox Hybrid All-Mountain 2025 is the German brand's aluminium full-power all-mountain platform: 160 mm of travel front and rear, the Sachs RS motor delivering 110 Nm of torque and a 700 W peak, and a removable BMZ RS 650Wh (gold-listed at 725 Wh) battery. At a claimed 23.7 kg and £5,999 base price, the bike sits in the upper-mid premium segment and offers an unusual technical proposition: the Sachs-Continental drive system rather than the dominant Bosch, Shimano or DJI offerings. With a 65.3 degree head angle and 466 mm chainstays, this is a confident all-mountain bike rather than a slack enduro sled.

Drive system and range. The Sachs RS motor is the standout technical story. 110 Nm of torque is class-competitive (between Bosch CX Gen 5's 120 Nm and Shimano EP801's 85 Nm), 700 W peak is solid, and the 3.7 kg unit weight is on the heavier side. The motor is built by the Sachs-Continental joint venture and represents one of the few credible alternatives to the Bosch/Shimano/DJI dominance. The 725 Wh removable battery is generous — bigger than the typical 600 Wh found on mid-priced eMTBs in this category — and a meaningful real-world advantage for big-day capability. The Sachs ecosystem is less mature than Bosch's Smart System: fewer dealer touchpoints, smaller OTA-update footprint, and a more limited user-app experience. Real-world range on a Sachs RS with 725 Wh typically delivers 1,300–1,700 m of climbing per charge.

Geometry and handling. A 65.3 degree head angle is balanced, more all-mountain than enduro. Reach progresses cleanly: 415 mm (S), 439 mm (M), 462 mm (L), 486 mm (XL). The 466 mm chainstay is held constant across sizes — long, prioritising climbing traction and stability over the most playful possible feel. Wheelbase grows 1,212 mm to 1,286 mm. The FLS Flex-Linkage is Nox's distinctive flexstay suspension layout, designed to reduce bearing count and frame complexity. The configuration matches the bike's all-mountain rather than full-aggressive-enduro intent.

Build and value. Only the £5,999 base trim is gold-listed. At that price for an aluminium full-power 160/160 platform with 725 Wh battery, the Nox is competitive with Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 (£4,499–8,999), Focus SAM2 (£7,500) and Moustache Game 160 platforms. The Sachs motor differentiation is the main reason to consider Nox over a more mainstream Bosch CX Gen 5-equipped alternative.

Caveats and known gripes. No curated owner quotes or forum excerpts exist for the Nox Hybrid All-Mountain specifically — first-hand long-term ownership data is essentially absent on the eMTB forum. The Sachs motor's UK dealer network is significantly smaller than Bosch, Shimano or even Specialized's: warranty turnaround and spare-part lead times need careful checking before purchase. The 65.3 degree head angle and 466 mm constant chainstay are conservative for a bike now competing with 64-degree, size-progressive-CS rivals at similar money (Norco Sight VLT, Trek Rail+ Gen 5). The aluminium frame at 23.7 kg is heavier than a carbon-front Cube One77 at 22.8 kg. Nox's brand visibility outside Germany is modest; UK retail/distribution should be confirmed before ordering.

Verdict. The Nox Hybrid All-Mountain is a credible alternative for buyers who want a non-Bosch, non-Shimano full-power eMTB and value the differentiation of the Sachs motor system. It will suit riders who prioritise a large 725 Wh removable battery, balanced all-mountain geometry and stand-out drive technology, and who are comfortable buying from a niche German brand with limited UK retail reach. Buyers wanting the latest 120 Nm Bosch CX Gen 5 platform, an established dealer network, slacker enduro geometry, or first-hand community ownership data should look at the Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 SLX or Centurion No Pogo R5000. Production status: current.

What the numbers mean on the trail

Computed from this bike's geometry and spec — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, battery and weight — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.

Size
High-speed stability
42

Shorter and steeper (1263mm, 65.3°) — quick to react but less planted flat-out.

Playfulness
31

More planted than poppy — better on steep terrain than tight, fiddly singletrack.

Size balance
84

Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.71) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.

Technical climbing
42

A workmanlike climber — expect to put in more rider effort on the steep stuff. That's 4.7 Nm/kg and ~30 W/kg of bike weight.

Best suited toAll-round trail riding across mixed terrain.

No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.

Watch out forNot a flickable, playful bike at 23.7kg — built to plough, not pop.

Brilliant on fast, rough, steep terrain; less fun on tight, mellow trails.
