Carbon high-pivot eEnduro platform with Bosch CX Gen 5 power, 800Wh battery and 160/170mm travel.

The Norco Range 2025 is a carbon high-pivot eEnduro flagship with Bosch CX Gen 5 power. Headline numbers: 170mm fork, 160mm rear, Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 at 120Nm and 750W peak with a 2.8kg motor mass, a removable 800Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, 25.4kg claimed on the base, 63.0 to 63.5 degree head angle and reach 418 to 528mm across nine size-coded options. Three trims: VLT at GBP 7,399, base at GBP 7,499 and VLT CX C1 at GBP 7,499. @chasmoftheclam's first-ride verdict after taking delivery: "What a composed and quiet bike... I felt like I was riding in slow motion".
Drive system and range. The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 is the headline. 120Nm of torque and 750W peak from a 2.8kg motor, with Bosch's refined PU2.0 firmware. The 800Wh PowerTube battery is removable. @chasmoftheclam highlights an underrated angle: a Bosch 250Wh range extender lifts the package to 1,050Wh effective, meaningful for backcountry and big alpine objectives where charging is not an option. The Bosch ecosystem (Flow app, Kiox display, OTA firmware) is mature and well-supported.
Geometry and handling. 63.0 to 63.5 degrees up front is slack enduro-DH territory. Reach steps are unusually granular: 418 (1), 442 (2), 453 (S), 466 (3), 478 (M), 492 (4), 503 (L), 518 (5), 528 (XL): nine sizes is among the broadest sizing strategies on a long-travel eMTB. Chainstays grow with size from 428 to 450mm, a thoughtful proportional approach. Wheelbase tops out at 1350mm on size 5. The 4-bar high-pivot VPS-HP layout with chainstay idler delivers a rear axle path that sweeps backwards on big hits, smoothing square-edge impacts without sapping pedal response. @chasmoftheclam reports the mullet setup gives "more space to move around the bike during steeper riding" and that the bike "is happier carving corners".
Build and value. Three trims. VLT (GBP 7,399, 23.46kg) pairs Fox 38 or RockShox Zeb at 170mm with a Fox Float X2 or RockShox Vivid Air shock, Shimano XT M8220 or TRP Slate Evo brakes and Shimano XT Di2 or SRAM Eagle Transmission. The (base) trim (GBP 7,499, 25.4kg) and VLT CX C1 (GBP 7,499, 25.4kg) share spec with Fox Float 38 Factory Grip X2 and Fox Float X2 Factory plus Shimano XT M8220 brakes and Shimano XT Di2 12-speed on the CX C1. Standout: high-pivot suspension on a carbon Bosch Gen 5 eMTB at this price is rare. Questionable: 25.4kg claimed is on the heavier side of carbon long-travel rivals.
Community-verified strengths.
- Composed and quiet ride. @chasmoftheclam's first ride descriptions match the high-pivot brief: smoothing chunder without sapping confidence.
- Range expansion to 1,050Wh. @chasmoftheclam confirms the 800Wh + 250Wh extender combination for big-day Rocky Mountain missions.
- Clean frame detailing. @chasmoftheclam singles out "clean cable routing with attention to detail on cable port design".
- Size flexibility. @friendo confirms a OneUp 240mm dropper fits a size 5 for a 6'5" rider: Norco's sizing genuinely accommodates very tall riders.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Weight. 25.4kg claimed sits behind Avinox-powered carbon enduro rivals; @Blownoutrides reports 54.7lb (24.8kg) with Mallet DH pedals on a Sight VLT build with upgrades.
- Older Range VLT booster issue. @airwalkrob reports a 2020 Range VLT E7000 with external booster suffers unresolved mid-ride power cuts.
- High-pivot maintenance. Chainstay idler adds drivetrain noise and a wear point: confirm dealer support for the idler bearing and chain replacement intervals.
- Mullet only. Mullet 29/27.5 is fixed; riders wanting full 29in should look at the Norco Sight VLT or rivals.
- Nine size codings. Sizes 1 to 5 plus S/M/L/XL is confusing on the spec sheet; confirm reach, chainstay and seat tube before ordering.
Verdict. The 2025 Range is one of the most credible high-pivot carbon eEnduro platforms on sale, with proper 170/160mm travel, Bosch CX Gen 5 power, 800Wh battery and a sizing strategy that genuinely accommodates riders from 1.55m to 1.95m. It suits riders who want a composed, quiet, square-edge-hungry enduro tool and who can live with Bosch's slightly heavier system weight versus Avinox. Buyers chasing sub-23kg system weight, full 29in wheels or simpler non-idler drivetrains should look at the Sight VLT or Avinox-powered rivals from Amflow or Commencal. Production status: current.
