Fluid VLT 2024
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.
Lightweight carbon trail eMTB platform built around Bosch SX power and the Fluid VLT 130/140 chassis.

The Norco Fluid VLT 2024 is the Canadian brand's lightweight carbon-and-alloy trail eMTB, built around the Bosch Performance Line SX motor (55 Nm, 250 W rated, 600 W peak, 2.0 kg) and an integrated 400 Wh Bosch CompactTube battery. Travel is 150 mm front and 140 mm rear via Norco's VPS Horst Link layout, head angle a properly slack 64.5°, and Norco quotes 19.3 kg as the claimed weight. Three trims sit at £4,999-£5,999 with C1 and C2 carbon-frame variants alongside the C2 base. The community verdict is positive on ride feel but flags the Bosch SX as overkill for moderate terrain — @f1xedgear reports "Turbo is almost always too much power for singletrack without extreme elevation. eMTB(+) is overpowered. Tour+ gives great assistance."
Drive system and range. The Bosch SX is the lightweight half of Bosch's modular ecosystem, sharing Smart System electronics with the full-power CX. @JP-NZ notes the SX recently updated to 60 Nm via firmware (a useful bump from the launch-day 55 Nm). The 400 Wh integrated battery is the headline compromise — small by 2024 standards and non-removable, which complicates winter storage and off-bike charging. Expect 800-1,200 m of climbing per charge depending on assist level. The PowerMore 250 Wh range extender lifts effective capacity to 650 Wh. Smart System ecosystem brings Kiox display, Flow app and OTA firmware updates. @f1xedgear manages 48 km rides "mixing in some Eco for the really flat bits".
Geometry and handling. The 64.5° head angle is properly modern-trail. Five Norco "S1-S5" sizes provide an excellent fit range: reach 422 mm, 447 mm, 472 mm, 497 mm, 522 mm. Chainstays scale with size: S1 432 mm, S2/S3 436 mm, S4 440 mm, S5 444 mm — Norco's size-specific rear triangles balance weight distribution across rider heights properly. Wheelbase grows from 1,213 mm to 1,299 mm. Mullet 29in front / 27.5in rear wheels add agility without sacrificing rollover. The geometry is competitive against the Whyte E-Lyte 150 and Trek Fuel EXe.
Build and value. The C2 at £4,999 is the entry, the C2 base at £5,999 includes RockShox Pike or Fox 36 Performance Elite with SRAM Code Silver Stealth or Level Ultimate Stealth four-piston brakes plus SRAM Eagle Transmission T-Type. The C1 at £5,999 ups the spec further. @f1xedgear notes both the Fluid VLT C2 140 and Transition Relay Carbon GX AXS have been on sale at $6,000 USD — meaningful end-of-line discounting. The £5,999 base trim is well-equipped for the price.
Community-verified strengths. @f1xedgear rates the Tour+ assist level as "pretty great" with 30 mi (48 km) range when mixing in Eco mode, and reports the suspension is more than capable of the Western Michigan singletrack it's used on. @Flo7 has built a custom Fluid VLT with SRAM XX Transmission, Lewis LH4 brakes and RockShox Lyrik Ultimate — the frame happily accepts premium upgrades. Norco's size-specific rear triangle design draws consistent praise.
Caveats and known gripes. The 400 Wh integrated battery is a clear weakness — riders chasing all-day rides need the £350 PowerMore range extender. @rayke reports the aluminium A1 trim's stock RockShox Silver 35 fork is "inadequate for 220 lbs rider weight" and that the oversized 1.8in steerer creates aftermarket fork-fitment challenges — a 1.5in fork plus FSA reducer "experiences slop over roots and rocks". @Ndanger notes the wider market context: rivals are increasingly offering Avinox/Bosch Gen 5 alternatives that potentially obsolete the SX motor for serious riders. @RustyB compared the Norco directly with an Orbea Wild ST H30 and rated the Wild better in feel. As a Canadian brand, Norco's UK dealer support is thinner than Trek or Specialized.
Verdict. The Fluid VLT is for the trail rider who wants a properly-geometried Bosch SX lightweight eMTB with five sizes and Norco's size-specific rear engineering at sharp end-of-line pricing. It is not for big-day pedallers who need 700+ Wh, riders who want full-power torque numbers or anyone who hates an integrated battery. Production status is current and 2024 stock is widely discounted at the time of writing.
