Steeper 68° and shorter travel — happiest descending smooth, flowy trail rather than properly rough or steep terrain.
Bigfoot VLT 2025
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The Bigfoot VLT is Norco's fat-bike take on a pedal-assist trail machine, built around a butted X6 aluminium hardtail frame, a 100mm Manitou Mastodon fork and 27.5 x 4.5in studdable rubber for snow and sand. Power comes from Shimano's EP8 drive unit fed by a removable in-tube pack offered in 540Wh, 720Wh or 900Wh capacities, so range and weight can be matched to the ride. Note the battery is sold separately from the frame.
Three builds make up the current line. The S2 is the value option, pairing a Mastodon Comp fork, Tektro HD-M275 brakes on 180mm rotors and a TranzX dropper with a Deore 12-speed drivetrain. The A1 steps up to the Mastodon Pro fork, SRAM DB8 brakes on a 200mm front rotor, WTB tubeless-ready wheels and an SDG Tellis dropper. The numbered "1" build sits at the top with the Mastodon Pro EXT fork, a Shimano XT rear mech, SLX shifter and a 203mm front rotor.
Geometry is consistent across the range with a 68 degree head angle, 460mm rear centre and reach growing from 410-420mm on the small to 500-510mm on the XL. The A1 and "1" share a slightly steeper effective seat angle and a higher bottom bracket than the S2, which carries a lower 329mm bottom bracket height and a marginally slacker seat tube. For a fat bike the figures are notably trail-oriented rather than upright touring, matching Norco's progressive-handling positioning.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.67) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Shimano EP8 (DU-EP800) and a steep 75.7° seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 500W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
Fine at trail pace; it'll feel out of its depth on properly rough, steep tracks.
