Stable, slack-geometry alloy enduro with dependable Bosch power

The 2022 Mondraker Chaser was the brand's most accessible full-power eMTB, an aluminium (6061 Stealth Evo) enduro machine running 160mm up front and 150mm out back on 29in wheels, driven by a Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 motor (85 Nm). Mondraker's Zero Suspension System and long, low Forward Geometry give it a properly aggressive stance for a bike aimed at newcomers, with a 65.5° head angle, 76° effective seat angle and reach stretching from 450mm on the S to 510mm on the XL.
Three builds shared the same frame and geometry. The flagship Chaser R (£5,499) got a Fox 36 Rhythm fork, Fox Float DPS Performance shock, Mavic E-Deemax wheels, a mixed SRAM GX/SX Eagle drivetrain and a 750Wh battery with the Kiox 300 display. The Chaser 750 (£4,999) kept the 750Wh pack and Fox 36 fork but stepped down to a RockShox Deluxe Select R shock, MDK-HP1 rims on Formula hubs and a full SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain. The entry Chaser 29 (£4,799) used a RockShox 35 Silver TK fork, a smaller 625Wh battery and the simpler Bosch Purion display.
All three ran SRAM G2 R four-piston brakes on 200mm rotors, Maxxis Rekon 29x2.6 tyres and ONOFF finishing kit, with claimed weights around 24.6-24.8kg. The R is the value pick if you want the Fox damper and Mavic wheels; the 29 trims cost by dropping fork, battery and display rather than gutting the build.
This 2022 Chaser is discontinued. Mondraker has since moved the Chaser onto the newer Bosch Smart System platform (later Chaser R, 750 and X builds) with revised electronics, so this generation now lives on the used market.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.78) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 and a steep 76° seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 600W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.
Strong up and composed down — a do-it-all, not a specialist.
