Megamo Crave CRB 2022
EMTB Forums verdict

The Megamo Crave CRB is the carbon-framed full-suspension all-mountain/enduro eMTB from Spanish brand Megamo, built on its Full Carbon FSC Technology frame with a carbon swingarm. For 2022 it ran a Shimano EP8 motor (85 Nm) fed by an integrated Shimano 630 Wh battery, with 160 mm of rear travel on 29in wheels and 29 x 2.6 tyre clearance. Geometry is shared across both trims and every size: a 65 degree head angle, 76 degree seat angle and 455 mm chainstays, with reach growing 435 / 459 / 489 mm across S/M/L.

The 2022 carbon line consisted of just two trims on that common frame, motor and battery. The CRB 05 (6,199 euros) paired a 150 mm Fox 34 Rhythm fork with a Fox Float DPS shock, a full Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain and Shimano MT520 four-piston brakes. The CRB 03 (7,299 euros) stepped up to a 160 mm Fox 38 Factory Kashima fork and Fox Float X Factory shock, with a mixed Shimano XT/Deore drivetrain, Shimano XT M8020 four-piston brakes and a Fox Transfer Kashima dropper. Both roll on 29 x 2.6 Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR II tyres and use the same integrated cockpit and internal cable routing.

This is a discontinued 2022 model. Note that the 2022 CRB used the earlier Shimano EP8 motor with a 630 Wh battery, where the later 2023-2024 Crave CRB moved to the Shimano EP801 motor and a larger 762 Wh pack. The CRB (carbon) badge distinguishes it from the alloy Crave AL, which is a separate frame and canonical entry. Pricing is given in euros as the manufacturer's launch recommended retail price from Megamo's own 2022 model pages; no UK retailer RRP was found, so the pound price is left blank rather than converted. No owner ride or reliability data was gathered for this dossier.

What the numbers mean on the trail

Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.

Size
Descending
67

A solid all-round descender (65° head angle, 160mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.

Playfulness
23

More planted than poppy — better on steep terrain than tight, fiddly singletrack.

Size balance
91

Balanced front-to-rear in L (FC:RC 1.82) — weight sits evenly between the wheels.

Technical climbing
69

Climbs well — a 76° seat keeps the front planted. 500W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.

Best suited toAll-round trail riding across mixed terrain.

No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.

Watch out forNot a flickable, playful bike — built to plough, not pop.

Brilliant on fast, rough, steep terrain; less fun on tight, mellow trails.
