A solid all-round descender (64.3° head angle, 150mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.
Crave AL 2024
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The Megamo Crave AL 2024 is the aluminium-framed version of the Spanish brand's trail and all-mountain eMTB. The shared chassis is built around a Horst Link 4-bar layout with 160 mm of frame travel up front (150 mm at the rear) and a fully integrated battery, running 29in wheels with generous 2.6in Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR II rubber. Geometry is consistent across the range, with a 64.3-degree head angle, 73-degree seat angle and 451 mm chainstays in every size.
Most trims use a Shimano EP801 motor (85 Nm) paired with a sizeable 762 Wh battery, so range was never the limiting factor. The line spans a wide spread: the AL 10 at 4,999 EUR runs a RockShox 35 Silver fork and SRAM SX Eagle, the AL 05 steps up to Fox 36 Rhythm and Shimano Deore, the AL 03 adds a Fox 38 Factory and Shimano XT, and the range-topping Gravity at 7,149 EUR pairs the Fox 38 with a coil Fox Float DHX2 shock and Race Face cockpit. The cheaper AL 40 is a different proposition, dropping to a Shimano EP6 motor, a 630 Wh battery, a 130 mm Suntour fork and a 10-speed Shimano CUES build.
Megamo has limited UK retail presence, so pricing here is quoted in euros from the manufacturer's own catalogue. This is a discontinued 2024 model, superseded by the 2025 Crave AL, which simplified the line to the AL 40 and AL 10 trims.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
More planted than poppy — better on steep terrain than tight, fiddly singletrack.
Balanced front-to-rear in L (FC:RC 1.85) — weight sits evenly between the wheels.
Climbs well — a 73° seat keeps the front planted. 600W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
Brilliant on fast, rough, steep terrain; less fun on tight, mellow trails.
