Bosch CX Gen 5 carbon all-mountain eMTB

The MMR Quercus 2025 is a Spanish-built carbon all-mountain eMTB from MMR (Madrid-based mountain bike specialist). Headline numbers: 160mm fork, 150mm rear, Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor at 120Nm and 750W peak with a 2.8kg motor mass, an 800Wh battery, 65.0 degree head angle and reach 435 to 485mm across S, M and L. Priced from EUR 4,999. This is one of the most aggressively priced full-power Bosch CX Gen 5 carbon eMTBs in the European market in 2025, undercutting equivalent Cube, Whyte and Canyon offerings by a meaningful margin. With no curated community quotes on file yet, this verdict draws on the gold spec and known Bosch CX platform behaviour.
Drive system and range. The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 is the headline. Following Bosch's PU2.0 firmware push, the legacy 85Nm Gen 4 has been retired and Gen 5 sits at 120Nm of torque and 750W peak with a refined dynamic mode that ramps assist more naturally than its predecessor. The 800Wh battery is generous for a 160/150mm platform: real-world range will sit at two and a half to four hours of mixed trail riding in Trail/eMTB modes, with 1,800 to 2,400m of vertical achievable for typical riders. Battery removability is not specified in the gold spec: buyers should confirm with their dealer. Bosch's well-mapped Flow app, Kiox 300 display and OTA firmware updates come as standard.
Geometry and handling. 65.0 degrees up front is bang on the modern all-mountain norm: confident on steeps without being overslack for European singletrack. Reach steps cleanly: 435 (S), 460 (M), 485 (L). Chainstays are a uniform 455mm and wheelbase tops out at 1277mm on L. The package is biased toward composure and stability rather than ultra-snappy cornering: a sensible choice for a 150/160mm all-mountain rig with a 800Wh battery aboard.
Build and value. One trim at EUR 4,999. The price-spec story is the headline: a carbon frame, 120Nm Bosch CX Gen 5 and 800Wh battery at under EUR 5,000 is genuinely market-disruptive. Build kit at this price will typically pair a RockShox 35-class or Marzocchi Z2-class fork with a Shimano Deore or CUES drivetrain and four-piston brakes; specific component spec varies by region and stock. Standout: carbon frame plus full-power Bosch Gen 5 plus 800Wh under EUR 5,000 is exceptional. Questionable: the spec sheet has not been fully detailed in the gold record, so buyers should verify fork, brake and drivetrain specifics before purchase.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Three sizes only. S (435mm reach), M (460mm) and L (485mm): no XS or XL. Riders under 1.65m or over 1.92m should fit-check carefully.
- Limited UK dealer network. MMR is well-distributed in Spain and Portugal but thinner outside the Iberian peninsula; warranty routing and parts for proprietary frame components may take time outside the EU.
- Battery removability not specified. Confirm at point of sale: integrated batteries impact storage and travel logistics.
- No curated community signal yet. The Quercus has limited owner reporting on the eMTB Forums community as of mid-2026; long-term motor and frame reliability data is yet to mature.
- One trim point. Buyers wanting upgraded suspension or AXS drivetrains may need to pay for aftermarket fitment versus brands like Cube or Whyte that offer trim ladders.
- Brand awareness. MMR is recognised in Spanish racing circles (Buff-MMR XC team) but less known to broader European eMTB buyers, which can affect resale value.
Verdict. The MMR Quercus is one of the most aggressively-priced carbon Bosch CX Gen 5 all-mountain eMTBs on the market in 2025, with full-power 120Nm torque, an 800Wh battery and modern 160/150mm trail/all-mountain geometry at EUR 4,999. It suits price-conscious buyers in Spain and Portugal who want a carbon Bosch platform with serious motor and battery for the spend, and who can access an MMR dealer. Buyers outside the Iberian peninsula needing strong local service support, or buyers needing XS/XL sizes or upgraded factory spec, should look at Cube, Canyon or Whyte. Production status: current.
