Steeper 69° and shorter travel — happiest descending smooth, flowy trail rather than properly rough or steep terrain.

Full-power alloy hardtail for efficient trail miles and fire-road climbs

The 2023 KTM Macina Team is an alloy 29in hardtail eMTB built around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 (85Nm) and a sizeable 750Wh PowerTube battery on the Smart System platform, paired with 120mm of front travel. It is a trail hardtail, not a full-suspension enduro machine. KTM's full-suspension enduro eMTB is the Macina Prowler.
For 2023 the Macina Team was sold in several configurations across 29in and 27.5in wheels, with the headline 29in 750Wh trims being the 791, 792 and 793. All share the same M-2706 frame and geometry, so the choice between them is really about kit. The 791 is the flagship with a FOX 34 fork, Shimano XT 11-speed, four-piston Deore brakes and an internal dropper post. The 792 steps down to a RockShox Recon, 10-speed Deore and Tektro brakes, while the 793 is the value entry with a Suntour coil fork, Shimano MT200 brakes and a rigid post.
Geometry is moderate and all-day friendly rather than aggressive: a 68.5 to 69 degree head angle, 73 degree seat angle, 474mm chainstays and reach figures of 400/414/430mm across M/L/XL. With the big 750Wh battery, top-loader battery access and LFC mounting points, it leans towards a do-it-all touring and trail hardtail.
Prices were quoted in euros for these European-market models, with the 793 at 3,999 EUR, the 792 at 4,399 EUR and the XT-equipped 791 at 5,199 EUR. There is no genuine UK RRP for the 2023 model year.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.44) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4 and a steep the seat angle seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 600W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
Fine at trail pace; it'll feel out of its depth on properly rough, steep tracks.
