Macina Lycan 2026

The 2026 Macina Lycan is KTM's nimble aluminium trail platform, built around 140 mm of Straight-Line-Link travel and a Bosch Performance Line CX motor. The range is in transition: most trims (771, 772, 773 and the 571 Glorious) run the Gen 4 Smart System motor at 85 Nm on a full 27.5 in frame, while the newer 892 and 891 DI2 step up to the Gen 5 motor rated at 120 Nm and 750 W with a Size-Split layout that puts the S frame on 27.5 in wheels and M, L and XL on 29 in.

That split matters for fit and feel. The Gen 4 27.5 in chassis is the steeper, shorter bike: a 66.5 to 67 degree head angle and 397 to 468 mm of reach across S to XL, with a low 15 mm BB drop for an agile, manoeuvrable character. The Gen 5 892 and 891 DI2 frame is slacker at 65 to 65.5 degrees with longer reach (437 to 487 mm) and a deeper 30 mm BB drop on the 29 in sizes, giving a more planted all-mountain stance.

On value, the EUR 4,799 892 looks like the pick of the range: it brings the 120 Nm Gen 5 motor, an 800 Wh battery and a Shimano XT 12-speed mechanical drivetrain for less than the EUR 5,799 Gen 4 771. The Di2 models trade outright motor torque for electronic shifting, with the 891 DI2 topping the line at EUR 5,899 with the Gen 5 motor, 800 Wh pack and Mavic E-Crossride wheels. The 773 L and 571 Glorious anchor the lower end with Suntour forks, RockShox Select shocks and smaller batteries.
