Untamed eMTB racing power - Bosch CX-R carbon enduro

The Haibike HYBE CF 11 2026 is the brand's flagship carbon enduro eMTB, built around the new Bosch Performance Line CX-R race motor (85 Nm torque, 250 W rated, 600 W manufacturer-claimed peak, 2.75 kg) and an 800 Wh battery. Travel is 170 mm front and 160 mm rear on a carbon chassis with a 64.5 degree head angle, 450 mm chainstays, and reach progressing 421 mm (XS), 451 mm (S), 481 mm (M) and 511 mm (L). Single base trim at £8,399, claimed weight 23.9 kg. The community read in one line: Haibike's most refined carbon enduro yet, paired with Bosch's new race motor, and one of the lighter sub-24 kg full-power 800 Wh setups currently in production.
Drive system and range. The Bosch CX-R is the latest Race variant of the Bosch Performance Line CX motor, introduced for 2026. It keeps the 85 Nm headline torque of the standard CX but adds an exclusive Race mode with more direct throttle response and higher max cadence, designed for race-paced riding. Paired with the 800 Wh battery — the largest currently available in the Bosch ecosystem — the HYBE CF 11 is genuinely an all-day eMTB. Real-world range in Trail/eMTB mode on mixed terrain will sit in the 50 to 80 km territory, with extreme cases pushing further on Tour mode. The battery is removable via the bottom bracket area, which is a tidy integration but requires a small amount of disassembly compared to a top-hatch design.
Geometry and handling. Sensibly modern enduro geometry. 64.5 degree head angle is mainstream rather than aggressive, suiting the 170/160 mm travel for trail-focused riding rather than full DH-adjacent enduro. Reach progresses cleanly through the four sizes, with the L at 511 mm being properly long for tall riders. Chainstays held at 450 mm flat across all four sizes is the one geometry compromise — Specialized, Norco, Giant and Commencal now offer size-tuned rear-centres at this price. The new Kiox 400C display is integrated and reduces handlebar clutter versus the older Kiox controllers.
Build and value. Single base trim at £8,399 (23.9 kg). At this price expect RockShox or Fox suspension at 170 mm front and 160 mm rear, four-piston brakes with 203 mm rotors, and a Shimano XT or SRAM GX 12-speed drivetrain. The £8,399 price is competitive given the new CX-R motor, 800 Wh battery and carbon chassis — equivalent rivals from Cube (AMS Hybrid 177 Super TM at £9,999) and Specialized are typically £1,500 to £2,500 more for similar spec.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Fixed 450 mm chainstays across all four sizes — small riders won't get the agility of a sub-440 mm rear-centre, tall riders won't get the stability of a 460+ mm.
- Single trim limits buyer choice. There is no entry-level alloy version of the HYBE CF 11, so the £8,399 ask is the floor for the platform.
- Battery removable via the bottom bracket area requires partial disassembly, which is less convenient than a top-hatch design like Bosch's PowerTube on Cube/Trek frames.
- No community forum quotes yet for the 2026 model — long-term reliability and ownership patterns will emerge through the year.
Verdict. The HYBE CF 11 2026 is one of the more genuinely competitive carbon enduro eMTB launches of the year and represents Haibike at its most refined. It suits riders who want the new Bosch CX-R race motor, an 800 Wh battery in a sub-24 kg carbon chassis, and the integrated Kiox 400C display — all at a price that undercuts most carbon enduro rivals by a meaningful margin. Look elsewhere if you want size-tuned chainstays, multiple trims to choose from, or the cutting-edge motor torque of the DJI Avinox M2S. Production status: current, single base trim, four sizes available now.
