The Giant Fathom E+ is the brand's aluminium hardtail trail e-bike, built around an ALUXX SL frame, 29-inch wheels and a 130mm fork on the flagship trim. It sits below Giant's full-suspension Trance E+ and Stance E+, aimed at riders who want assisted climbing and trail capability without the cost or complexity of rear suspension.
Two trims made up the 2024 line. The Fathom E+ 2 (RRP £3,299) is the better-equipped of the pair: it pairs the 75Nm SyncDrive Sport2 motor with a 625Wh EnergyPak battery, an SR Suntour XCR 34 coil fork, a Contact Switch dropper post and a Shimano Cues LinkGlide 1x9 drivetrain. The Fathom E+ 3 (RRP £2,999) steps down to the 70Nm SyncDrive Sport motor, a 500Wh battery, a 120mm SR Suntour XCM32 fork, a fixed seatpost and a microSHIFT Advent 1x9 transmission, so the extra spend on the E+ 2 buys more battery, a dropper and a longer-travel fork.
Geometry is consistent across both trims with a 66-degree head angle, 75-degree seat angle and long 470mm chainstays, giving a stable, climbing-focused rather than aggressive trail character. Sizing runs S to XXL on the E+ 2 and S to XL on the E+ 3, with reach from 416mm to 486mm.
This is a discontinued 2024 model. Giant carried the Fathom E+ nameplate forward into later model years with the SyncDrive Sport platform, so current stock is run-out pricing on the outgoing generation.
