The GasGas G Cross Country is an entry-level hardtail eMTB range built around Yamaha motors and an alloy 6061 frame. It is pitched squarely at riders building confidence on the trail rather than seasoned enduro hands, with cross-country geometry, a 67 degree head angle on the 29in models and modest 120mm forks.
The 3.0 is the pick of the range: a Yamaha PW-X3 motor at 85Nm, a 630Wh integrated Simplo battery, a RockShox 35 Silver TK fork and a 12-speed SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain, all for the same 2,699 pounds as the lesser 2.0. The 2.0 drops to a PW-ST motor at 70Nm with a coil SR Suntour fork and a 9-speed Tektro groupset, so it is hard to see why anyone would choose it over the 3.0 at identical money.
The 1.0 is a different bike: 27.5in wheels, a 50Nm PW-CE motor, a smaller 400Wh external Yamaha battery and an 8-speed setup, aimed at smaller or first-time riders at 1,599 pounds. Across the range these are basic alloy hardtails with own-brand cockpit kit and 2-piston brakes, so expectations should be set accordingly.
