Slack 64° head angle, 170mm travel and a long 1290mm wheelbase — composed in the chunk, confident when it gets steep, and stable through fast corners.

Burly alloy enduro with long travel and dependable EP8 power

Launched on 25 May 2022, the all-new Devinci E-Spartan is the brand's dedicated e-enduro, taking the aggressive DNA of the regular Spartan and bolting on a Shimano EP8 motor and a 725Wh BMZ battery housed in the down tube. With 170mm of rear travel via Devinci's Split Pivot suspension and a 180mm Fox 38 fork up front, it is built squarely for technical descending and gravity-leaning trails on full 29in wheels.
The geometry reads modern-enduro rather than extreme: a consistent 64.0 degree head angle across all four sizes, steep effective seat angles from 77.0 to 77.3 degrees, and a generous 455mm chainstay shared by every frame. Reach steps from 440mm on the S to 505mm on the XL, with stack growing from 625 to 652mm, giving a planted, stable platform suited to steep ground rather than tight, playful singletrack.
For 2022 Devinci offered the E-Spartan as a single Deore 12S build at US$7,799, and the value sits in the chassis rather than the badge. Fox 38 Performance and a Fox DHX2 Performance Elite coil shock anchor a properly capable suspension package, Shimano XT four-piston brakes on 203mm rotors handle the stopping, and Maxxis Minion DHF / DHRII tyres in tough Exo+ and DoubleDown casings come fitted as standard. The drivetrain is workmanlike Shimano Deore M6100 12-speed, keeping the price in check at a claimed 25.0kg.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Balanced front-to-rear in L (FC:RC 1.84) — weight sits evenly between the wheels.
Climbs well — a 77.1° seat keeps the front planted. 500W of peak power and 85Nm of torque — a strong full-power motor.
Rewards commitment; it should feel calmer as the speed rises.
The numbers are well balanced for its category.
