Light-assist Bosch SX aluminium enduro eMTB

The Devinci E-Spartan Lite 2026 is Devinci's first e-enduro and a Canadian-built aluminium platform aimed at the lightweight, big-travel category. Headline numbers: 170mm fork, 165mm rear, Bosch Performance Line SX with 55Nm and a 600W peak from a 2.0kg motor, an integrated 400Wh battery, 63.5 degree head angle and reach 460 to 500mm across M, L and XL. The community read so far is light: this is a new launch and the forum signal is thin, but press testing and Devinci's own data position it as a serious heavy-hitting Bosch SX rig that hides its weight under genuinely lively manners.
Drive system and range. The Bosch Performance Line SX is the lightest of Bosch's drive units, sitting alongside the TQ HPR50 and Fazua 60 in the SL category but with a 600W peak that's punchier than either on short, steep ramps. The CompactTube 400Wh battery is integrated into the downtube. Devinci's own published numbers point to roughly two hours of riding, 1,000m of vertical and 40km of mixed terrain on a single charge in mid-modes, stretching to 67km if you discipline yourself to eco. A range extender is supported but not in the gold spec listed here. The Bosch ecosystem brings Flow app integration, OTA firmware and the well-proven CX/SX over-the-air update path.
Geometry and handling. 63.5 degrees up front is properly slack, a meaningful concession to the enduro brief and only half a degree off the equivalent analogue Spartan. Reach steps are honest: 460 (M), 480 (L), 500 (XL). Chainstays are a uniform 436mm, short for a 170/165mm bike, which keeps cornering quick despite the long wheelbase that tops out at 1294mm on XL. The package is biased to fast steep descents while keeping the back end snappy. Devinci is small-rider friendly here too: the M reach of 460mm is genuinely usable for riders down to 5'7.
Build and value. One frame, a single base trim listed in the gold spec at this stage. Devinci's wider catalogue confirms a GX AXS T-Type build that pairs SRAM Maven brakes with the Bosch SX system: Maven on a sub-50lb (21.5kg-class) eMTB is rare at this segment, and a clear value play. The 6061-T6 Optimum G04 aluminium frame is made in Canada, which is one of the few remaining western-hemisphere aluminium frame production stories in 2026. Wheels are 29in front and rear in the press tested build.
Caveats and known gripes.
- Bosch SX is not Bosch CX. 55Nm and 600W will feel light to riders moving across from a full-power Levo or Rail. Designed-in trade for system weight.
- 400Wh, not 800Wh. Big alpine days will need disciplined mode use, a range extender, or a recharge stop.
- Aluminium only. No carbon option from launch.
- Three sizes. No XS or S, and no XXL: riders outside roughly 5'7 to 6'4 should fit-check carefully.
- Battery removability not confirmed in gold spec. Most Bosch SX implementations on integrated downtube frames require the motor to be dropped for battery removal, which favours charge-in-frame ownership.
- New platform, limited owner-reliability data. Forum signal as of mid-2026 is sparse. Long-term motor and frame durability will take a season of riding to confirm.
Verdict. The E-Spartan Lite is Devinci's confident first stab at the lightweight enduro category, with proper 170/165mm travel, a 63.5 degree head angle, modern reach and the Bosch SX ecosystem. It suits riders who want a Canadian-built aluminium platform with genuine enduro geometry and the lighter system weight that the SX brings versus full-power Bosch CX. Riders chasing the most powerful motor, the longest range, or a carbon frame should look at the regular Spartan analogue with the option of full-power Bosch CX elsewhere. Production status: current.
