The 2024 Canyon Spectral:ON is the brand's full-power trail e-MTB, built around a carbon frame with 160 mm of fork travel and 155 mm at the rear, a mullet wheel set-up (29in front, 27.5in rear) and the Shimano EP801 motor rated at 85 Nm. Geometry is consistent across the range with a 65.5-degree head angle, a 76.5-degree effective seat angle and 440 mm chainstays on every size, giving a reasonably slack, capable trail position rather than an outright enduro one.
The line-up ran from the CF 7 at £4,649 (RockShox Lyrik, Deore drivetrain) up to the CFR at £8,849 (Fox 38 Factory, SRAM X0 AXS, Code Ultimate brakes) and the flagship CFR LTD at £11,149 with RockShox Flight Attendant electronic suspension and SRAM XX AXS. The CF 8 at £5,599 and CF 9 at £6,999 sit in between, with the CF 9 the first step up to a Fox 38 Performance Elite fork and SRAM GX AXS Transmission. As is typical for Canyon, the cheaper carbon builds offer a lot of frame and motor for the money.
Buying direct from Canyon, the consumer-direct pricing was a core part of the value proposition against shop-sold rivals. The Spectral:ON has since been discontinued in this form and superseded by a revised Spectral:ON generation, alongside the lighter, TQ-powered Spectral:ONfly sibling.
