A solid all-round descender (66° head angle, 140mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.

Full-power alloy trail all-rounder with 800Wh for genuinely long days

The BULLS EVO CX AM is a value-focused aluminium trail e-MTB built on a Mono-Link swingarm with 140mm of travel front and rear. Both builds run Bosch's Performance Line CX Gen 5 (Smart System) motor, delivered here in a 100Nm / 600W tune, paired with a Bosch Purion 200 display and a 10-speed Shimano CUES LinkGlide drivetrain (RD-U6000 mech, CS-LG300 11-48T cassette). It is a deliberately affordable, do-it-all package rather than a high-end race bike.
The two trims are more different than their names suggest. The AM 2 (EUR 3,999) is the flagship: 29in wheels, an 800Wh Bosch PowerTube, a RockShox 35 Gold RL air fork and a 100mm RUMBLE Escalator dropper, with a claimed weight of 26.8kg. The AM 1 (EUR 3,499) steps down to 27.5in wheels, a smaller 540Wh PowerTube, a Lytro 34 Air fork and a 75mm dropper, at a claimed 26.4kg. Both share the SR Suntour Edge X-2CR shock, Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres, BULLS DDM-30 rims, Shimano BR-MT200-class hydraulic brakes on 180mm rotors and the RUMBLE Altimate cockpit.
Geometry, published by BULLS for the 29in AM 2, is middle-of-the-road trail: a 66-degree head angle and 76-degree effective seat angle right across the range, 445mm chainstays at every size, and reach growing from 438mm on the S to 494mm on the XL. This is a sensible, price-led family aimed at trail riding and off-road touring rather than aggressive enduro use.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
More planted than poppy — better on steep terrain than tight, fiddly singletrack.
Rear-long with a planted front in L (FC:RC 1.80) — easy to weight the front and quick to turn, though it can feel light at the back at real speed.
Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 and a steep 76° seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 600W of peak power and 120Nm of torque — among the most powerful e-bike motors made.
Strong up and composed down — a do-it-all, not a specialist.
The numbers are well balanced for its category.
