A solid all-round descender (66° head angle, 150mm) — capable in the rough and steep without being an all-out bruiser.
iLynx Trail 2024
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The 2024 BH iLynx Trail was the alloy, lower-power end of BH's full-suspension trail e-MTB family, sitting beneath the carbon iLynx Trail Carbon and Carbon Pro models. It paired a 150 mm Split Pivot aluminium frame with BH's own BHZ motor (built by SEG), a compact 2.1 kg unit rated at 65 Nm and up to 500 W, fed by a 630 Wh down-tube battery with an optional 180 Wh XPro range extender.
Three trims were offered in the UK. The 8.0 at £3,899.90 ran a RockShox Recon fork, 140 mm travel and an 11-speed Deore drivetrain with Shimano MT420 four-piston brakes. The 8.1 at £4,499.90 stepped up to a Fox 34 Rhythm fork and a 12-speed XT mech. The flagship alloy 8.2 at £4,999.90 added a 150 mm Fox 36 Performance fork, SRAM DB8 four-piston brakes on 200 mm rotors and a Race Face Aeffect wheelset, making it the most capable of the three.
Geometry was consistent across the range and leaned modern-trail rather than extreme: a slack 66 degree head angle, a steep 75.5 degree effective seat angle and notably short 451 mm chainstays across all four sizes for an agile, playful feel. Reach ran from 430 mm on the SM to 490 mm on the XL.
The iLynx Trail is discontinued. BH has since moved the trail family to its newer iLynx+ lightweight platform, and the BHZ-era alloy iLynx Trail is no longer listed on the BH site.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
More planted than poppy — better on steep terrain than tight, fiddly singletrack.
Not enough geometry on record to judge size balance.
A workmanlike climber — expect to put in more rider effort on the steep stuff. 500W of peak power and 65Nm of torque.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
Brilliant on fast, rough, steep terrain; less fun on tight, mellow trails.
