Steeper 67.7° and shorter travel — happiest descending smooth, flowy trail rather than properly rough or steep terrain.
iLynx Race Carbon 2023
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.

The 2023 BH iLynx Race Carbon was BH's lightweight XC and marathon race eMTB, sharing its HCIM monocoque carbon frame (Toray T1100 and T800 fibres, claimed 2,200g with shock) with BH's high-end road bikes. Power came from BH's own in-house 2EXMAG drive, a compact 2.1kg unit quoted at 65Nm and 250W and described by BH as 10 per cent lighter than the previous 2ESMAG, paired with a 540Wh internal battery that could be topped up to 720Wh via the optional XPro add-on pack.
The range spanned four trims. The LT models ran 120mm of FOX 34 travel: the LT 7.6 (Shimano XT mechanical, MT420 brakes, Race Face wheels) at GBP 6,299.90 and the LT 7.7 (Factory fork, XT brakes, alloy wheels) at GBP 7,299.90. The Pro LT 7.8 added Shimano XTR, FOX Factory and carbon wheels at GBP 8,299.90, while the flagship Pro 7.9 dropped to a 100mm race set-up with FOX Factory SC remote, SRAM XX1 AXS wireless shifting and the 720Wh battery for GBP 9,299.90.
Geometry was firmly XC-orientated for its era. The LT 7.6 and Pro 7.9 used a 67.7 degree head angle and 74.7 degree seat angle, while the LT 7.7 and Pro LT 7.8 ran a slightly steeper 68.5 degree head angle; chainstays were a short 453mm across all sizes, which spanned S, M and L only. This generation is now discontinued. BH later carried the iLynx Race Carbon name forward into a lighter 2025 and 2026 platform that rebranded the same in-house drive family as the 65Nm BHZ (built by SEG Automotive) and moved to a 630Wh battery.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Not enough geometry on record to judge size balance.
A workmanlike climber — expect to put in more rider effort on the steep stuff. 500W of peak power and 65Nm of torque.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
Fine at trail pace; it'll feel out of its depth on properly rough, steep tracks.
