Steeper 67.7° and shorter travel — happiest descending smooth, flowy trail rather than properly rough or steep terrain.
iLynx Race Carbon 2022
How current the bike is — newer chassis, motor and battery score higher. 10 = brand-new, 0 = legacy.
Pure cross-country racer built for fast, efficient miles

The 2022 BH iLynx Race Carbon was BH's lightweight XC and marathon race eMTB, sharing its HCIM monocoque carbon frame (Toray T1100 and T800 fibres, claimed 2,200g with shock) with BH's high-end road bikes. For 2022 it adopted BH's newly developed in-house 2EXMAG drive, a compact 2.1kg unit quoted at 65Nm, 250W, 110rpm and 163mm Q-factor and described by BH as 10 per cent lighter than the previous 2ESMAG. A 540Wh internal battery was standard on the LT trims and could be topped up to 720Wh via the optional XPro add-on pack.
The range spanned four trims. The LT 7.6 paired a FOX 34 Performance 120mm fork with Shimano XT mechanical shifting and MT420 brakes at GBP 6,299.90, while the LT 7.7 stepped up to a FOX 34 Factory Step-Cast fork, full XT and alloy wheels at GBP 7,299.90. The Pro LT 7.8 added Shimano XTR, FOX Factory damping, carbon wheels and the 720Wh battery at GBP 8,299.90, and the flagship Pro 7.9 dropped to a 100mm race set-up with a FOX 34 Factory SC remote fork, SRAM XX1 AXS wireless shifting and the 720Wh pack for GBP 9,299.90.
Geometry was firmly XC-orientated for its era and varied by build. The 120mm Performance-forked LT 7.6 and the 100mm Pro 7.9 used a 67.7 degree head angle and 74.7 degree seat angle (reach 412/431/451mm); the Factory-forked LT 7.7 and Pro LT 7.8 ran a slightly steeper 68.5 degree head angle and 75.5 degree seat angle (reach 420/439/458mm). Chainstays were a short 453mm across all builds, and the bike was offered in S, M and L only. This generation is now discontinued. BH carried the same 7.x lineup into 2023 before later moving the iLynx Race Carbon onto a lighter platform with a 630Wh battery and the rebranded 65Nm BHZ drive.
What the numbers mean on the trail
Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.
A fair bit of pop, but happiest on flowing trail rather than trials moves.
Not enough geometry on record to judge size balance.
A workmanlike climber — expect to put in more rider effort on the steep stuff. 500W of peak power and 65Nm of torque.
No single standout trait — a balanced, versatile bike.
Fine at trail pace; it'll feel out of its depth on properly rough, steep tracks.
