Carbon DJI Avinox 800Wh enduro eMTB

The Apache Eagle 2025 is a Czech-built full-power carbon enduro flagship from a brand that has been welding frames since 2001. The headline numbers tell the story: a DJI Avinox M1 motor delivering 105 Nm of torque and a manufacturer-claimed 1000 W peak, an integrated 800 Wh battery, 170 mm of fork travel matched to 160 mm out the back, and a remarkably light 21.7 kg claimed weight for a full-fat enduro. The community verdict, drawing on first-hand Avinox experience from across the forum, is that this is a proper big-mountain weapon that punches well above its sub-€7k price tag.
Drive system and range. The Avinox M1 is the engine room here, and it is one of the most talked-about new units of the last 18 months. At 2.52 kg it is the lightest motor in its class, yet outputs 105 Nm sustained and 1000 W peak, comfortably above Bosch CX or Shimano EP801 territory. The 800 Wh battery is fully integrated in the downtube and is NOT removable, so charging happens on the bike. There is no community range data on the Eagle itself yet, but Avinox-equipped builds across the forum consistently report 1,400–1,800 metres of climbing per charge in Trail mode, with Boost mode reserved for 30-second blasts where the system briefly unlocks higher power. Firmware updates from DJI have been the talk of the wider Avinox community.
Geometry and handling. A 64.0 degree head angle is bang on modern enduro norm, neither extreme nor conservative. The chainstay sits at a constant 455 mm across all three sizes, which gives the rider a consistent feel but means taller riders on size L do not get a stretched rear centre. Wheelbase grows sensibly from 1228 mm on size S through 1243 mm (M) to 1270 mm (L). Three sizes (S, M, L) is the only real geometry caveat — there is nothing for riders above roughly 6'2". The 29-inch wheels and four-bar rear linkage suggest a planted, supportive feel rather than a poppy short-travel character.
Build and value. Three trims share the same frame, battery and motor. The €6,800 DJI 1 is the pick: RockShox ZEB RC fork (170 mm) with DebonAir+ air spring, Super Deluxe shock, SRAM Maven Bronze 4-piston brakes with 200 mm rotors front and rear, and SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type Transmission. That is a genuinely top-end spec for the money. The €6,000 DJI 2 drops to a RockShox Domain Gold RC fork, Deluxe Select shock and SRAM DB8 brakes but keeps GX AXS T-Type — solid value if the ZEB upgrade is not essential. The €5,200 DJI 3 uses a Psylo Silver fork and Eagle 70 Transmission; it is the bargain entry point but the bargain comes from forks and brakes rather than the drivetrain.
Community-verified strengths. Forum experience with the Avinox drivetrain ecosystem is positive on the key components. @Fyiguy notes that SRAM Eagle Transmission with Avinox needs the specific AXS power cable to enable Smooth-Shift, which Apache fits as standard on the DJI 1 and 2. SRAM GX Eagle AXS itself has a strong durability record — @Bndit ran a mechanical GX through 3,600 km of hard use with multiple hanger impacts and the derailleur survived. The Maven Bronze 200 mm rotor package on the DJI 1 is the right brake for 1000 W of climbing pace and gravity-fed descents.
Caveats and known gripes. The integrated 800 Wh battery is not removable, which rules out hot-swapping for big days or carrying a spare. Only three sizes will leave taller riders looking elsewhere. The Avinox ecosystem is still young: spare-part networks outside core European dealers are not yet mature, and the brand-new motor lacks the multi-year reliability record of Bosch CX or Shimano EP801. Apache is a niche Czech name with limited UK dealer presence at the time of writing, so most buyers will be working through GREATEBIKE.EU or direct.
Verdict. The Apache Eagle is one of the most aggressively priced Avinox enduros on sale and a credible alternative to the bigger-name DJI-powered carbon flagships. The DJI 1 trim at €6,800 with ZEB, Maven Bronze, GX AXS T-Type and a 21.7 kg weight is the standout. Buyers who need a removable battery, an XL size, or a settled dealer network should look at established players. Everyone else gets a current-production carbon enduro that, on paper at least, is hard to fault.
Frame
Lightweight and rigid full-carbon frame with UDH dropout system and internal cable/hose routing through the head tube. 170 mm fork travel paired with 160 mm rear travel via a four-bar linkage. Designed by Czech brand Apache (since 2001) around the DJI Avinox drive system with an integrated 800 Wh downtube battery. Three sizes (S, M, L).
