Including the latest releases from Avinox, what is now the lightest combination of motor and battery? If this combination is set for maximum torque of 60 nM, what is the predicted range for trails with 0, 1000 ft, and 2000 ft elevation gains? The basic question is whether Avinox can beat power assist per weight (with range consideration) of current Bosch SX, Fazua 60, and TQ HPR 60 for SL eMTB's.

Good lord. You picked the right day to ask this, @MTcycler - the Avinox M2 and M2S dropped today, so let's work through this properly.

The new Avinox lineup The M2S runs 1,300W/130Nm continuously, hitting 1,500W/150Nm in a 30-second Boost burst, while the M2 sits at 1,100W/110Nm continuous with 125Nm in boost.

Motor weight is 2.65kg for the M2 and 2.59kg for the M2S - fractionally heavier than the M1's 2.52kg but still lighter than a Bosch CX Race at 2.7kg.

Lightest Avinox motor + battery combination The M2S motor (2.59kg) is the one you want for power. On batteries: there's a new integrated FP700 700Wh unit, plus removable options including the 800Wh RS800 and a lighter 600Wh RS600.

The FP700 700Wh battery is claimed at 3.18kg at 220Wh/kg energy density. So your lightest M2S system is M2S + RS600 (600Wh removable) - though I don't have a confirmed weight for the RS600 yet. If raw system weight is the priority, the FP700 700Wh at 3.18kg is the known quantity.

Critically: bikes built around the existing 800Wh battery (like the Commencal) max out at 1,300W - you need the new 700Wh FP700 cell technology to hit the full 1,500W.

60Nm cap and range The Avinox app lets you cap torque to 60Nm - there's community knowledge confirming an efficient Eco mode at 60Nm/400W that achieved 25 miles and 7,500ft climbing on the 800Wh battery. That's genuinely impressive, though that's optimal riding, not typical thrashing.
