trek 9.5 cables sticking out

Hi
I bought a trek rail 9.5 (my 1st mtb nevermind emtb) for my new life in italy. So i purchased it from an italian shop (ciclimattio) as i thought that'd be best with any future help and to avoid import issues now the UK has left EU.
The bike arrived before i managed to get out here, I've now had a look and seen these cables as shown in the picture. I'm guessing that's not right and they should be under the cover, not trapped and getting pinched?
Ciclimattio aren't replying, should i take off the shroud and just do a better job of it?

Can't you just take the cover off and tidy them up?

You'll probably have it fixed before you get a email back from them.
