This video is quite a good example of what we’d like to ride:

The guy does go slow & steady in places, but I like that as it shows how steep & tricky some of the trails are, rather than watching someone bomb down them at lightening speed and making everything look easy

Most of that is the more known off piste which is commutable from the cycle centre. They are generally the easier trails & show up on the heat maps above, but as they don’t exist as segments, trying to make head or tail of it, is challenging if you aren’t a regular/local.

If you aim for the hot spots, you can follow your nose down most stuff and have an adventure!

U.K.
not until the end of July!

fancy a day on the dh trails whilst we’re there at least but happy to explore the fun stuff all over. We have three full days of riding morning / charge / late afternoon before some friends turn up and we have to be sociable for a couple more days! (Although we’ll still get some riding in no doubt)

we won’t go crazy trying to ride every single trail there, prefer to just session a few that we like and get better at them each time
Apart from the way marked DH runs in that area (called Sallow Vallets) there are Blue and Red grade circuits which are both good. Some off piste stuff as well.

There are many other good trails in other parts of the Forest. Access either from Pedal Bike Away, Mallards Pike or Deans Cycles at Parkend.

Website or AirB&B link ? Sounds great

Accommodation is already booked for our FOD trip but I’m sure we’ll be having a South Wales road trip in the future

Looks great Dobby, and reasonable prices too. I tried looking at prices in May / June next year but not available to book yet ?
I have limited booking times to 3 months in advance only for right now.
and lately have been shutting off weeks and months at a time for bookings made outside of airbnb.
but not all unavailable dates are 'unavailable' so just contact me for bookings etc.
of course if you want to ride local, im around for guiding if needed.

Evening guys. Just wanted to say thanks for the offers of meeting up at FOD to show us the fun stuff but we’re running out of time and only have tomorrow to ride and are planning on doing the DH trails again as they’re great

Loving Launchpad, so fast! Just done Launchpad, Countdown, Sheeps Skull & Corkscrew so far, planning on more tomorrow 👊🏼

Another local who’s not on this forum showed us round on Tuesday too so we have a few off piste trails to play with !
