What a bunch of ass.
As a BC resident, I’ll cop to a small amount of jealousy. It was during a survival course in uk forest that i discovered that there are no predators for humans in uk…
That was a bit close. Never bunny hop a snake, thinking you will be past them by the time they coil up. They are really flipping quick.
Bad Bunny? My buddy and I were riding the Tahoe Rim Trail to Flume Trail and then finishing up on the Tyrolian Downhill. As I crossed a narrow wood bridge just below Marlette Lake, I heard a loud bang and felt the bridge jump. I then heard a loud splash. I hit the brakes on my bike thinking my buddy who was behind me, had crashed off of the bridge and fell into the creek which was about three feet below the bridge. As I slowed down, I heard my buddy scream "Bear, Big Fuc#$% Bear, Big Bear, Big Bear." I turned and saw a bear walking up the creek towards Marlette Lake. My buddy later told me that when I crossed the bridge, this startled the bear which was underneath the bridge. The bear hit the bridge when it stood up on it's hind legs. My buddy said he was about a foot from the bear when he crossed the bridge. When we later reached Marlette Lake, we saw the bear playing in the water with a stick. Evidentally the bear wasn't as traumatized as my buddy. I was able to take a few photos of the bear.

I rode Laguna several days ago and came across this rattlesnake eating a rabbit. You can see the drag marks where the rattlesnake was dragging the rabbit off of the trail. I tried to get a close up shot, but when I bent over to take the shot, the snake released the rabbit and coiled on me. Some things you just leave be.

I started fishing at 15, Deep sea Trawling out of Aberdeen. I remember catching ones about 8 foot long x 3 feet wide and 10 inches thick we only guessed the weight. Google gives estimate of that size between 3 and 5 hundred pounds.and between 30 and 50 years old .Shame when I think of it now . Can't imagine 200 lbs on a rod some strength that would have.. Caught a Basking sharkBesides sport fishing, I only commercial fished once in the Seymour Narrows to help a friend for 6-7 days. (Salmon on Vancouver Island). Some crazy tides there.
Helped my brother-in-law land a 200lb Halibut in his 16’ boat. 1-1/2 hours. He shot it before we pulled it in the boat. The flakes of meat were too big imo.
I can’t imagine the risks of deep sea fishing …that’s a whole other level of risk.…but the money must be good.![]()
You mean fish right? The ones that get away are always the biggest.
Yes folk say I caught one yo big but the line broke or some other story. That shark was two blocks up the mast and it's head was still in the water ,wire snapped and it totally wrote off the net escaping. Before the days of people carrying a camera about 1970You mean fish right?![]()

Recently I learned road runners prey on rattlesnakes, so they just became my good friend.

Just know that in reality, a coyote is much faster than a roadrunner (40mph vs 20mph). However, the coyote is quite inept when it comes to technologies involving wheels, rocket motors and anvils so, the bird does have that going for him.I thought it was just a cartoon character. Cheers lads Road Runner song will be in my head all day now.
That road looks like it is conducive to snakes really blending in too, with the combo of branch shadows and cracks in the pavement with a pretty similar form.I only seen it when I was too late to do anything. Luckily he was a bit docile and had no coil to strike but it probably gave the both of us the willies being so close to each other
Yes a very fast snake, I've seen them in full flight before and they can supposedly move at 20kph, never mind the speed of its head when its going for a bite.
What, no Gopher Tortoises? Some critters from our SOUTHWEST florida trails
