It's not yer cassette, it's yer free hub.
Don't worry about it, it's good for letting walkers know you're on the prowl.
If y still wanna quieten it down pull it off and load it up with grease, just be carefull not t lose any pawls or springs.

thats wot i do pedal from start to finish the ticking does my head in its a disorder with noises lol

Replace the hub with with an Onyx hub. It will cost a bit for the hub, and to have that hub laced onto your wheel. But what is the price for the silence of a sprag clutch instant engagment hub to a user that is OCD about noise ?‍♂️

When I was early into MTB, all the freehubs were silent. Then Hope (?) brought out one that clicked like a machine gun and suddenly everybody wanted one, or a sound-a-like.

Handy for letting people that you were there and wanted to pass, much better than a bell!
