Score (out of 10): 9.5

Review: We don’t use a bike rack too much but this Thule Easy Fold XT seems to be the answer. We have another Thule bike rack but the kids use it all the time for Whistler trips so we’ve had to borrow the neibours bike rack for our latest trip.
I wanted something compact to store in the garage but it had to be strong enough to carry 2 eMTB’s. The other bike racks take up more room and need a dedicated area. This bike rack folds up nicely and rolls under the bench or work top.

Fits in the trunk area …even in the box.

Unboxing was the difficult part 😉.

That was easy. It comes fully assembled.

A 2” receiver hitch and tighten it up. Easy.

Tilts easily out of the way.

Look fairly good when not in use.

I’ve used the Thule Easy Fold XT a couple of times for quick trips to the local bike shop (LBS). We haven’t had a chance yet for an extended trip but I’m fairly confident there will be no issues.
The mounting and locking procedures are quite easy. There are locking mechanisms on the receiver and each seat post clamp. Once you decide on a method of securing the bikes it’s fairly easy. Each wheel is secured with a ratchet strap …which I like. One key fits all 3 locks. It will also fit a 1”1/4 receiver but a 2” is advised for eBikes.

More importantly, for me anyways, was how easy it was to attach, remove and eventually roll under the bench. It’s like a piece of rolling luggage.
It doesn’t have a bottle opener attached though…but I’m sure there’s a way😉.

Thanks for the review, that looks really good.

How wide is it when unfolded? I am worried that the wheelbase on my bike is too long for a bike rack.

Yah…that’s what I thought too. My Trek Rail medium has a 48” wheel base and it fits on the rack. The sales guy said a 55”? wheel base should be fine. It does look narrow though. I’d check it out first. But it was a lot sturdier then I thought. Just as sturdy as the other racks.
