Cleaning my bike today when this weld caught my eye it looks like a poor weld or possibly the beginning of a crack?
Not sure how visible it is in the picture

Well it is definitely a very poor weld even not including the small area that looks like a crack. The weld is good on the main bar but looks to be completely short of the lower bar. No way I would accept that on a bike! Sorry mate!

Yep, definitely a concern. I would have that back at the dealer forthwith, personally.

Ok cheers for the reply thought it looked a bit suspect will take a trip to the bike shop.

Just an update on my weld issue.

Contacted Raleigh UK who advised me to take it to my local dealer (not where the bike came from) my lbs were very helpful and were happy to inspect the frame they could to tell if was cracked but said the welding was of poor quality .
Emailed Raleigh with there findings and pictures who forwarded to Lapierre who were very quick to agree to replace my frame.
Raleigh UK contacted my LBS and arranged for the frame to sent there and the shop to build my bike.

I am very impressed with their service and customer support although my bike is going to be like triggers broom with it on it's second motor and second frame ?
