Storage Solutions? Dropper Post and Saddle Bag.

Hi, wondering if any of you have mounted a saddle bag under your seat with a dropper post? When the dropper is down and suspension fully compressed does it hit the tire and rub? I'm looking for ways to carry a few essentials on the bike. Thanks, Nate

I use a Dakine Hot Laps Gripper Bag - takes inner tube, 2 co2 cartridges, tyre levers, multitool, patches, some chainlinks and some zipties. Its one of the best bits of kit i have ever got.:

The strap holding the water bottle is a Backcountry Research Motherload, which is designed for strapping stuff to your bike, but i use for water bottle.

Love the mutherload load strap. Thanks very much for posting this as it is really going to help me out. As you can see I am very tight for space on the water bottle front due to my rear shock.

I don’t like wearing a pack so I use a topeak Fuel Tank Frame Fit to carry all my essentials.

The Dakine would probably fit in front of the shock round the top tube on your bike - i sometimes use mine hung off the top tube where the water bottle is strapped in my pics, i rarely ride with a water bottle unless on an unfamiliar route as plenty of cafes dotted around my usual rides.

I have a small bag on the handlebars. Big enough to take a folded jacket or jumper, sun hat and lunch.

I had the same issue with under-saddle bags combined with a dropper post. After a couple of purchases that were not so good, O ended up with the Micro 80 Plus from Klickfix.

Very happy with it. Stays out of the way. Does not interfere with the dropper. Has a reasonable capacity. Can easily and quickly be popped on and off.

One warning about under-saddle bags, though: check how much space you have behind your seat post. Mine was a bit tight, which meant that the Topeak mounting system didn't work for me:

I use the specialised Bandit saddle bag ... does not touch the dropper, or make contact with my wheel.
I can carry a spare tube, a Co2, Spare derailleur hanger.
