Levo Gen 2 Specialized Frame Warranty Policy (I hope I’m wrong)

So let's be clear. If your electric mirror failed on your 8 month old car, you would be quite happy to accept one in primer if the manufacturer told you they couldn't possibly keep colour matched mirrors for every car they sold?
Its the wrong analogy, because the business model is different - a car brand would only keep a mirror cover in primer, its down to the garage to fit and paint it.

But still, the car brand pays for everything if under warranty! And some these bikes costs as much as new cars too!
My logical thinking is if the colored part brakes and replacement is needed within mandatory warranty period (1-2 years, depending on the country) local consumer laws apply so with most country I guess they must get you exact same part, otherwise you have the right to the new bike or money back. If this happens after mandatory warranty period (afaik frames have a lifetime warranty) manufacturers warranty terms apply so they can get you same or compatible part with probably unmatched color and you can take it or leave it.

No I agree you want back what you originally had, just its a lot easier for car companies due to how that industry's distribution model works.

Exactly. If the frame broke in say the first 9 months of ownership because of an initial manufacturing fault you should be entitled (under consumer laws) to have a bike which was exactly the same as you paid for. If you broke it in an accident and it wasn't a manufacturing issue then you can only rely on the terms and conditions the manufacturer sets out.

Once you are outside consumer law periods the manufacturers warranty terms apply.

yep, same thing happend to me but i got to upgrade to a carbon frame (front triangle) but couldn't pick the color. They said only 2021 colors would be available, however, i ended up getting a 2020 carbon frame.

I would ask for a carbon rear triangle, but unfortunatley that will only be available in the 2020 or 2021 s-works colors.

I do want to be clear, I was more than happy working out a deal to upgrade to a carbon frame from aluminum. So specialized rider care took care of me quite well, and will praise them from the mountain tops.

I would not be pleased to say the least. Fine for them to choose that they only stock black parts, but then sand it down and paint it with the color codes you have, mix up some paint, and make your customer happy. What does that cost them? Peanuts. Honestly...

I am sure they will not budge and you will not get anywhere with this. Have it painted by a local paint shop, or use one of the dentless repair / bodywork guys that come to your door (I am not from the UK but I have seen some on the gram and they seem real good).

Unfortunately just accept and pay for that and you can go on enjoying your bike the quickest.

So I’ve been told Specialized has the best warranty, part of the reason I bought my 2020 Levo Comp. Well, I noticed the weld on my chain stay was cracked, took it to my LBS and they said no worries, warranty. Chainstay showed up....and it’s black, my bike is tan/orange. What good is a black chainstay going to do me? My LBS told me Specialized response was that all warranty frame components are black, because they cannot maintain all the colors of all the models and still maintain a lifetime warranty! So they are saying that they can’t keep a color for less than a year? This bike is 9 months old! If I was looking for them to replace 10 year old Rockhopper, I’d get it, but a 2020 model? If not matching color is their policy, then I think their policy sucks. I hope my LBS just screwed up and ordered the wrong color.

Very disappointed myself ,they have just replaced my matte black carbon rear triangle with gloss black ,disgracefull from such a large bike manufacturer, they should inform customers that parts replaced will not match the colour of your bike before purchase ,not good after a £10000 purchase.

You should check it at Concept store, I know I registered mine myself after the purchase ...

Thanks. I haven't a clue if it was registered or not. The Specialised Concept Store never mentioned having to register it. Maybe they did this for me as part of the sale?
There are many things we are not told, like the fact that when I had a recent incident on my 2022 satin black carbon levo, the rear triangle suffered damage, the parts were replaced at a reduced price but replaced with gloss black parts which I was not happy with ,so now have to get them repainted at cost to me .

That's not good but at least you got replacements (I know this is no consolation). I decided on Specialised because I'd read so much about the warranty and service being so good. Hope I will never need it though!

That's a bummer about not matching the color. As others have mentioned, I think it looks good. This does make me happy, however, that I purchased a black bike.

Absolutely, I spoke to rider care and told them to be upfront with customers at point of sale ,I will eventually pay to have the rear triangle repainted to match ,still dint know why I was not offered this service prior to new parts being fitted ,whilst speaking to rider care thay asked why I had not used my local bike shop instead of the specialized concept store ,strange thing to ask ,lessons learned eh.
