Shimano Deore lever with slx shifter

I have deore brake levers, which are the newer ones. putting slx shifter on. Will these fit well together or do I need anything to make them fit better?

if they're both banded (and the shifter doesn't have a gear indicator window) they'll sit side by side fine.
if you want to mate the two together into an STI you'll need the correct adapter. Of which there are many

I know the lever is banded, it’s the one with the ‘guard’. I’ll have to check on the shifter as it’s coming from another bike
