My Niner derailuer (SRAM) started acting up yesterday. Skipping gears then all of a sudden the chain went slack. The chain hangs down and there is no spring tension on the derailuer itself. The derailuer just kind of hangs there flpping around. I was able to barely pedal back to the truck luckily, but the chain is WAY loose. Is this is easy fix by replacing a spring or something. Never had this happen before.

Yup...I think you guys are 100% correct. It looked like it came loose. I figured something broke, but it may just have come loose by the screw backing out. Gonna try to fix it tonight. Thanks for the replies.

If a screw has come loose consider a little blue thread locker/loctite, and if there is a torque setting then stick to it.
