I've noticed that when I hold my rear brake, there is some play in the rear hub, in that the wheel can rotate a degree or two back and forth - this only translates to an inch or two movement on the ground but I've not noticed it before.
Can anyone tell me if this is a sign of a worn hub or loose sprocket?

That's play in your rotor mounting rather than your hub.
Tighten your rotor bolts / centrelock ring

Rotor tightened - thanks
The bolts weren't loose by any stretch, but they were out of torque, so I took them out added some Loctite and torqued up - no more play.
