Hi All,
I'm visiting Oslo, Bergen early November, I'd like to get a ride in while I'm there.
Could someone give me a bit of advise as to good places to ride for a very average rider, Ebike hire, getting there and back on public transport ect. Is early November a bit late? How cold will it get? Any snow? Is there anywhere else you'd recommend? After Norway I'll be making my way down through Germany to Munich
I've had a look on Trailforks and the net for tracks and bike hire ect but nothing beats local knowledge.
When last in Scotland I hired an Ebike and rode Glentress, GREAT!! Put it on your list!!

All advise appreciated,
many thanks Mike

I don't know much about Ebike hire and riding trails around Oslo or Bergen unfortunately.
However, I'll try to answer your questions regarding temperature and weather.

Early November may or may be too late. I live in Kongsberg, approx 80 km west of Oslo. We may have snow and temperatures below zero Celsius in late October / early November. In any case, it will be quite chilly and possibly also quite wet / muddy if above zero.

As Oslo is at the coast (as is Bergen), they usually have a few degrees warmer climate.
In Bergen, I doubt if you will meet snow at that time. Perhaps up in the mountains, but not down close to sea level.

Thanks for your reply Anders,
I thought it would be a bit on the cool side, perhaps I'll need to reconsider having a ride in Norway maybe leave it till I've moved further south into Germany.
Best wishes Mike

Between Oslo and Bergen you will find Nesbyen which has loads of trails, and e-bike rental Trailhead Nesbyen
November might be off season for shuttles and with good chance of snow, but on the north-east side of the town there is a trail area which easily can be reached by bike. On the south side one of the longest descent (blue rated) “Hallingspranget” is made, it’s around 16 km long and 600 metres descent. Nesbyen is a stop on Bergenbanen railway.
